21 limited crew 4x4. Wife drove it 4 days ago for the first time. She sat in the school line for 20 minutes, total truck run time of 25 minutes, 3 miles driven. After she got home I had to run out, started and a huge puff of blue smoke came out of the exhaust. Never happened before, has never happened again. No warning lights, all gauges correct, truck is running absolutely fine. Thoughts?

Had the same thing happen on our 2018 Tundra. Never happened again and no issues

These trucks run heavy (meaning not so lean)
Any time there is idle time in traffic, etc. this will happen.

Don’t be alarmed. It’s been happening to me since 2010.

Weird - blue smoke is oil yet why? Usually cats burn it off so its not even visible...this must be a whole lot. Check oil level?

It's happened to me a couple times after I run it hard then shut the truck off pretty soon after.

My 21 did this just once that I knew of. Figured it was fogging for skeeters.

Has more to do with these piston rings than anything else. Your truck should be on the severe duty maintenance schedule noted in the manual.

Have had it happen a few times on my 21 limited. I live with it.

My 2020 has done it once. It was after a sort of hard drive and then sitting for two cold winter days. Once large puff of light blue smoke right with it fired up.

As others have said it seems "normal". I figure it has to do with how the PCV system operates in certain circumstances. My guess is sometimes the oil builds up in intake and if you shut the truck down and let it sit, that oil collects and causes a puff of smoke. What specific operating conditions cause this is not entirely clear though. Running it hard, quickly parking, and let it sit seems to be one way to induce it. Another could be light load, lots of idle time.
