I am a 20+ year Tundra driver with 119K miles (never had unscheduled maintenance) on my 2014 Tundra SR5 Crewmax with TRD Offroad. Thinking about the 2024's with some serious upgrades. I live in canyon country in northern Arizona, and I need reliability in the back country.

    Haven't decided between a Platinum, a 1794. or a TRD Pro.

Does anybody have a good feel for the reliability of the iForce Max engine? I hate it that I can't get the fantastic V8.

    Would appreciate any info.

    Thanks.

Welcome to the forum! You should post up pics of your current truck, as we are all fans of pictures!

That said, it's a bit early to speak toward long term reliability of the new generation as it's only been around for a short time. Even if somebody had a 150K mile 3rd gen, that isn't reliable data because the mileage has been achieved in a short window. At the same time, the issues and failures that have cropped up for some unfortunate owners aren't a good barometer of long term reliability either, as they too are concentrated in a very short window and in the timeframe that is most likely to experience issues (brand new platform/generation). Those teething problems my disappear or linger. No one knows yet, but time will tell.
