I came to America in 1980 when I was 4. Family started in South plaza in va beach. Then moved to Chesapeake when I was in 3rd grade. Lived in all 7 cities over the years. About to move back to Chesapeake and looking to buy another tundra soon too.

No, but my Dad was stationed on the Kennedy back in 1970 to 1976 then we moved to N. VA. Moved down here about 7 months ago. I’m actually in Northern Suffolk right next to Chesapeake.

When we first moved here from HI back in 1970, MT Trashmore was still a dump

I went to Malibu Elementary then Independence for a year before we moved to Northern Virginia. Couldn’t wait to get out of that area. Too much traffic, rude people, and very expensive. I lived in London County and sold my little house for $625K 7 months ago, now they are going for $680K. Very few single family homes for sale. We had almost 6000 homes in our neighborhood

HA! I've got scars from skateboarding trahsmore when it was a soapbox derby track. Good times.
It's a bit different now, but still a good place to be.

Oh crap I totally forgot about the skate park at trashmore. Fun times. I used to roll down the hill and fly kites and of course try my hand at skateboarding.

LOL...same here. We used to watch movies there and ride down the hills on cardboard. Remember the Surf and Sand Dive-in. Did a lot of flounder and croaker fishing at Ryder Inlet

From what I hear the housing market in Chesapeake has no inventory for sale. Meaning whatever goes up for sale is usually sold within a couple of days

You heard right. When we moved here, it was at the very end of a buyers market. We paid $315K and the seller paid all the closing costs. Two months ago, my neighbor whose house is the same model as mine sold his house for $340K in less than a week. He had 3 contracts on it. Where I’m at in Northern Suffolk the area is growing super fast. VA Beach, Chesapeake, and Suffolk are suffering from a home shortage. The lumber shortage is driving the prices up as well. There aren’t many rentals either.

I’m hoping things get better soon, but have a feeling it will drag in to at least the beginning of 2023. It breaks my heart to see all the people who are still out of work and all the businesses that have gone under. It was already bad enough with the Big Box stores and Amazon doing it to them.
