Cooler? Ya dunno what’s going on there, but one nightmare at a time. I pulled the center radiator support out to mash it back into a straight line and none of the hoses are leaking on the cooler. Might hit it with some brake cleaner or something to get the paint off, it can’t be making it run cooler.

I straightened the top of my radiator support and now the hood pops up juuuuuusssst enough that I don’t have to put a pine cone behind the hood release in the cab to lift it. Next is trying to figure out why the safety latch rod is like 3 in too long. It has a metal handle instead of plastic so I’m assuming it’s from another vehicle.

Here's the PN for those brake lines. I'd double check them, but they work on my 02.

So I have a line on potentially free cloth seats for a DC, but I don't think they have the SRS airbags. I searched but can't find anything about whether that will be an issue or not. Also, speaking of airbags, I looked and I have the Claymore Takata airbags and they haven't been replaced. Anyone know offhand if Toyota is still doing that?

    Imma keep it stock
After you buy the truck (or sometimes before):
    • Register for an account at the Toyota Owner's website: https://www.toyota.com/owners
    • Plug your VIN number in and assign it to your account so you can check for open recalls, register yourself as the person to call/email in the event of a recall, and see any dealer-performed service history, including any frame inspections, recall work, regular maintenance, etc. This could give you a good idea of what the truck's had done already, where it lived, how regular the maintenance may've been.

Oh I did that before I bought it, I just didn’t know if Toyota was still honoring the recall. The answer is they are, they just have to order parts and no one knows when they’ll come in.

I need to make a bumper sticker that says “Don’t hit me, I’ll die” with a big Takata logo under it. I need driver and side curtain.

Someone totaled their 2001 limited Sequoia and the drivers seat is just sitting in their front yard so they said I could have it. Guess I’m going to see if that bad boy will fit in my 06 limited DC

Aren’t you looking for one with an integrated airbag or did you give up on that?

It certainly doesn’t on the Tundra. I’m pretty sure the Sequoia is the same.

I believe they were optional and mounted in the pillars. They didn’t become standard equipment seat mounted units till 2007, a year after the 2006 Tundra but that’s all according to Google. Something to further research and confirm.

The sequoia didn’t get them until 2007?

That’s what I’m seeing. Going through the online brochures will confirm. Either that or a Toyota parts department.

Edit: @Nimitz_ Looks like I’m wrong, I’m also seeing seat covers the mention accommodations for airbags in the seats for 2000-2006 years. So you may be lucky and get one. I definitely don’t see it as a mandatory feature that early though.

Stranded steel cable will probably last longer than the truck. If it’s worth doing, it’s worth massively overdoing it.
