I confirm that hitting F5 refreshed the page and now I can see the details.

When I enter VIN numbers from the dealership I have my "order" with, I get the Page Not Found, after pasting one of their VIN numbers into the search box, it doesn't show anything but in the "initiatior" column it says "zone.js.pre-build optimizer". Must be why why their VIN numbers don't return any search results.

So I tried this with the temp vin that I got from the dealer. I reserved a Tundra that was allocated, but when I put in my vin I just get an error saying "The page you're looking for is not available, please contact your dealer for more information".

My truck is supposed to be here the 2nd week of April according to the dealer. any thoughts?

Have you checked the dealer’s website to see if the VIN has been updated?

I was able to check my temporary VIN earlier today but it stopped working. I noticed that my dealership updated the VIN to a real one but it’s not working yet, so I’ll check tomorrow after everything has refreshed.

The dealer site doesn't have any Tundras on their site anymore.

try back again tomorrow. At least that’s what I would do. Worst case, you can always hit up the dealership for the updated VIN.

try entering a VIN number that works, then after right clicking enter your VIN in search box and refresh (F5), it takes a few seconds to update, you might see the "zone.js.pre-build optimizer" appear

Decided to try the new VIN (from my dealer's website) this morning to see if things were updated & it's still giving me a failed screen.

Also tried to use a VIN for a working Vspec & then entering my VIN in the Network part of the scripting & still can't get it to work. Weird thing is, the temporary VIN worked until about 2pm yesterday. I'm thinking I *may* call the dealer today to see if maybe they didn't enter the right VIN on their website.

Please excuse my anxiety and excitement. I have anther question. Truck is scheduled for production today. How will I know if it happened? I checked the temp VIN this morning and it is still showing up and showing the same info it has for the past week. This truck is not listed on my dealers page. TIA

I'm actually in the same exact position as you are right now... My temp VIN stopped working mid-day yesterday & the new VIN is still not working today.

Did you contact your dealer or just find your permanent VIN on their website?

Just did the same. They had the wrong VIN online. I'm able to check now. Changed from A to F. No ETA yet, though.

Just giving you some useful info here. In Pennsylvania it is not legal to keep a deposit on a vehicle for any reason. I have a good friend who owns a dealership here in sw PA and confirmed that with him. They can tell you it’s non refundable but legally they have to give it back if you want to back out for whatever reason

For what it’s worth, while it’s not in the TX area, Seeger Toyota of St. Robert, MO is doing no markups with $1000 refundable deposit. I know because we have a 2022 4Runner TRD Sport arriving any day now.

Has anyone's tracking gone from F back to A in the same day before? I stepped away from my desk, came back & it had refreshed back to A... The dealer told me it was changed to freight today but now I'm starting to wonder if something happened.

@scape How are you seeing the birthdate? I also have a build date of 3/21.

Problem is, my dealership won't let you make a refundable deposit until after it hits "F" status. It HAS to be in person as well. I have my motorcycle lined up to roll since the dealership is only 8 mins away. So it's technically not my truck.

    Question for all:

Did your truck change from "A" to "F" status randomly in the middle of the day? Or was it in the middle of the night/the next morning? How often should I be refreshing the page? For me, its literally a race to get this truck because we can't deposit until it goes into "F" status. First come, first serve.

Also, Im eyeing a 4x4 Platinum. How long did it take to go from "A" to "F"? Then "F" to delivery at dealership? I love on the west coast less than 45 mins from one of the dilivery ports.

Dealer can see the dates and what is happening. You just have to be a pest.

    There are so many variables.
I actually told my dealer to shove that 1794 that is on hold for mechanical failure up his butt. Told them they deceived me for day one and they should be ashamed of themselves for not being honest and upfront about the original build date and why it’s on hold.
He told me “ok I’ll buy it, I need a new truck” I can’t believe that salesmen are Richard’s because they have a market cornered but fail to realize they still have to be seen in their community. What idiots. Oh well, I have another dealer looking for what I want. Just be careful out there everyone.

Unfortunately cannot get this to work.

However, in this day and age, you would think that the vehicle should be pretty easy to track once built!!?? If they can track a wooden spoon on Amazon, how can the auto industry be so far behind that you cannot even track your vehicle while in transit? The farthest I can get is to the point when you plug in the VIN, the following options pop up:

    • serverComponent.php?r=67.8597015.....
    • b0dbcadd84580c784a8ce9045c0f375.................
    • 70bdfd73979819efa23d8badbda850c......................
Nothing close to the VIN number to select and see status.

Being in Canada, maybe thats why it's not working for me; should not make a hill of beans difference one would think? VIN's are no different I wouldn't think. Maybe its a MAC/PC issue [I am on a MAC].

All I know is that my dealer has said "Built and in Transit"; supposedly arrives the end of April but that can change depending on the rail system :censored:. Wouldn't you know, there was a strike up here a week or so ago...probably delayed delivery by 3-months o_O!

Just checked again today. Despite getting the real VIN & the status changing from A to F, it has remained back in A for the majority of the last 24 hours. Not exactly sure what that’s about but really hoping there wasn’t some sort of mechanical failure during production.

I'm sorry, but this made me laugh, "if you can track a wooden spoon on Amazon!" Classic.

I completely agree, I've tried several times a day since I discovered this thread last week and I cannot get my VIN to work either. Super frustrating. Glad to see it's working for some, but really weird many of us can't get it to work.

I would think they can’t tell you what the hold up is which sucks but I’m sure once it gets going again you should be seeing it sooner than later.

if Toyota is anything like Jeep, when I was having my Gladiator built, it sat in inspection for like 2 weeks without any reason at all. The other thing I’ve seen is if the vehicles are going by rail, they won’t move anything until they have enough to completely fill the rail cars so there it will sit without any explanation.

Jeep has this code that is called something like “moved to storage” which is basically means you’re sitting there until they have enough to not waste any rail car space.

I would bet there’s something dumb like that or you’re waiting for floor mats or something silly.

Just got my real vin and put down my 1k deposit! I'm locked in for my platinum boys! Should be here by mid April. Should I not get too excited? Seems like I should expect delays but I live right next to the delivery port.
