Thanks for this way to check. Now I don't have to bother my dealer and Salesman and look like an anxious butt. Mine shows "F" but still doesn't show an ETA. The fleet manager said Scheduled delivery is 4/1 but the ETA doesn't show anything at all. I'm only 5 hrs away from the VPC where the truck is located so maybe doing final inspections and cleaning prior to shipping? It's a Tundra 1794 4WD. I'm a permanently disabled VET so having this information you helped me gather keeps the anxiety at bay.

    Thank you

You are so close to receiving your truck, the last few days are the hardest! I just picked mine up a couple days ago and I couldn’t be happier with the truck!

Have you changed the tires or lift? I don't like street tires but don't want to go back to huge 33's so I can keep fuel economy good.

I installed bigger E rated tires because I’m off-road a lot for hunting, fishing and camping (not sure if I’ll lift yet). Currently on our first road trip out to the beach and averaged about 19mpg over 400 miles all highway. Tires are the 295/70r18 falken wildpeaks which is really a heavy tire. With something a bit lighter I’m sure you’d hardly notice an mpg hit.

I looked up one that said it was available from my dealer, comes up with no ETA but says it is presold? 5TFNA5DB5NX06D609

And another that has an actual VIN but no ETA. 5TFKB5CD0NX001159

What does dealer status "G" mean? Just curious

Earlier in the thread OP said "There's the two you mentioned and then "G" for ground once it's been dropped at the dealership and invoiced."

So for those waiting...I just contacted the VPC vehicle distribution hotline and the truck allocated to me came off the line with 3 others and had a mechanical failure. They won't tell me what it is, just that they don't know when it will be repaired. Probably 30+ days due to lack f parts. F ME!

That's super frustrating. Mine was slated to be built 01/15 originally, still nothing. Supposed to be here 03/29-04/04

As I’m reading I’m wondering if my 1794 is falling under the “chip” shortage mechanical problem. I do know that most parts BESIDES the chips are 30 days out. My dealer said it’s scheduled to ship 4/1 so we will see what happens.

So how do all of you get to this point? I basically did a build on their web site and took it to the dealer. He looked at his computer and said he will keep watch and let me know when he sees something he can switch out for. Is this what all of you did? When the dealer calls me will the truck be already built or exist on paper only at that point?

Basically I'm in the "we'll call you" stage.

Dealers get allocations. Basically you specify colors and packages you want and if they get anything close in an allocation they will call you. I specified 1794 4WD and the only color I don’t want is the Turd Brown. So that opened the door for any other 1794 4WD they would get in an allocation. Sad thing was and is now TOYOTA was sorting out 1794 2WD like hot cakes because 4WD parts are hard to come by right now.

So can the dealer see what's coming down the pipe for all the dealers in the area or just them in order to make some type of swap out? I'm being specific in wanting Lunar Rock and he said that will be the hard part. However, there's dealers within an hour drive that I've seen like 4 Lunar Rock's so I'm not too sure he's right. I'm staying with this guy because I've bought from them before and I may be able to talk them out of tying to go over sticker (or go even below).

It sounds like I'm in the same place. I worked out an order on a 2022 Limited long bed with the dealer. No deposit, no signed deal likely because they don't have an allocation yet. I was told fall 2022 but at some point does production switch to 2023 models?

I have bought 5 vehicles from my dealer but it didn't stop me from putting my name on seven other dealerships in the area. When you tell your dealer that you have put your name on other lists; if they want to keep your business they will track down or trade allocations for the Lunar rock color you are looking for. Just be patient because you are specific about a color that is indeed a hard color to locate. And you wont find any dealer looking to sell below MSRP right now.

I saw someone post above about chip shortages and also 4wd parts shortages. Where are you getting this information from? I do not doubt this information, I have just not heard it or read about it on any of the other forums or social media specific to the Tundra. I have a build date for this Friday and as of yesterday it was still set for then. Reading things like this makes me nervous LOL

Thanks for the insight. I actually negotiated a fixed value on my trade based on the expected ETA. The dealership has an incentive for early delivery. will see if this helps.

I also got to take a look at a dealer's computer screen and it lists "A" status on the screen as Allocated "Build" and not Assembly if that matters to anyone.

Being a permanently disable vet comes with the benefits of community. I have a buddy thats a dealer in another city that keeps me informed about the general census of Tundras coming out of San Antonio. I also have a buddy I have purchased 4 toyotas from that is now a Lexus dealer and he keeps me up to date on freight and shipping out of Houston.

Question: If you have say 3 Toyota dealers in the area, and put your "order" in for a specific vehicle, wouldn't all 3 dealers end up trying to allocate the same vehicle when it comes available for allocation, or does it not work like that?

I have 4 dealers within about an hour from me. My thought is they all would be trying to allocate the same vehicle and that could possibly work against me.

I guess I don't know enough about how it all comes together.

No sir because they all get different allocations and who knows what number in line you are on any of the lists. To make the assumption you are number 1 on all the lists is just setting yourself up for a let down. I was number 30 on the list for the dealer in my city, number 12 another place, number 6 on another. Once my dealer in my city found that out they bumped me to number 2 and traded allocations between another dealership for the Tundra that is allocated to me. NOW that doesnt mean that if its not here and another dealership calls me and says they have one showing up in two days and if its a color I want I would jump on it and tell my current dealer to shove it.

So.... the "dealercategory" on my truck just changed from "T" to "G." I hope it means what I think it does.

Actually found an almost exact match to what I want at a dealer about 45 minutes away. Its in transit and will arrive 4/13-4/18. Best part is they're not charging a premium over MSRP. I told him I'd be there on Saturday to see if we can make a deal with my trade. Next best offer from other dealers was wait and see if it becomes available on allocation with $3000 over MSRP.

Downside: He says $500 non-refundable deposit. He also gave the old pressure "well it may be sold by Saturday". So I figured I'd give it back to him a little by saying "well, if its not available on Saturday let me know and I won't bother coming down - not interested in any other you may have".

Agreed. It's almost certainly going to be sold by Saturday if they're selling at MSRP.

I agree, it will probably be sold. The Plat SuperSonic I gave up was picked up within a day. Also check your local laws with deposits.

Thing about it is…..it is already sold and he won’t tell you until you get there and then will say 5k over MSRP and it’s yours and F the guy who already put a deposit on it.
