not found. is that a temp VIN?

 

It’s the real Vin, it’s in the gray area of built and being transferred to the port- eta is the 27th, but shows in transit on the dealer site.

 

Anyone have a tip on how to make this work if nothing populates after typing the VIN in the network search field? I have the real VIN (no letters in the last 6), but nothing comes up from network. Thanks!

 

Refresh your page with the inspect window open.

 

it will show "in transit" from the time is leaves the plant to the time it arrives at the dealer.

only way to get a true status is to go into dealerdaily and see the status page of that vehicle if its allocated to them.

 

Is that site only for the dealers, customer are not able to use it?

 

Ok, using chrome on a Mac. Got a status of 404 on both vin lines and under the preview header it says nothing to preview. VIN is

if you get a decent dealer or if you deal with a certain dealer alot, they may let you see the screen or give you printouts.

in my case i have bought 13+ toyota's from them so i am an edge case.

i'mmm sure there is some method to the madness, but the whole way this all works is just super interesting to me.

my salesman swears from what he can see my truck will be here next week. it had a build date of 5/4. looking at the other trucks on their site and their factory stickers, 6 of them have build dates of 4/20 or 4/21. 1 of those 6 is showing "G" in the dealerCategory parameter value on the site, the other 5 (and my truck) are showing "F."

they're all essentially getting the same port installed accessories.

kind of crazy.

from what I understand, dealerCategory of F means it's en route or at port. dealerCategory will change over to G when it's on a truck to the dealership.

mine is showing dealercategory F but there is not a eta line? The sales guy said it was going into production 5/23.

 

yeah the screen status is completely different now from when i last bought a toyota.

this was a scan of a print out of the status screen from 2018 compare to what you posted now.

only big change is they removed the entries for vessal depart/arrival since really you wont have that for a tundra since they are exclusively built in usa. for a 4runner that screen will show those entries since they are built in the tahara plant in japan.

 

My build date was 3/38 and on rail on 3/31. Still no truck. It's been sitting on a train in Seattle since April's 13th. QC hold is wack. Hopefully I get it soon.

 

Received update from dealer, it looks like it’s on the railcar as of May 18th, on the way to Salt Lake Utah. Has anyone else had recent updates showing railcar?

 

Spoke to my dealer Friday. They said Toyota is slowly getting the site back up. My truck was built the last week of March and was put on a QC hold. It has been showing category F with no ETA since May 2nd. The wife and I are leaving to travel for a year in our camper and the truck is all we're waiting on. Our departure date is Aug 1st so hopefully it's here soon.

 

So, I have tried this. The provided number i have is 350728421100001, I feel like this isnt correct.. anyone help with this? I am going to ask next week if this was the correct number or not..

Doesn’t look correct to me. In a lot of cases, the final VIN is available from the website of your dealer once they post it. I’d try there. Might be somewhere on the info page for your truck or will be visible on the window sticker link if one is available.

 

Ok, thanks. That’s kinda what I thought. They gave me my info page and final price on Wednesday of last week. The VIN I was using was off the bottom of this page. Will keep looking. They said it would be here next month.

 

Did they give you a build date ?

 

They did not. I will ask tomorrow for a VIN or build date. Can you track by build date? First time doing this LOL. I’m in a 2013 Tundra I bout brand new and has 211k on it. So, I haven’t had to do this, or wanted too. Really excited for this truck though.

 

Truck was built 5/13. Showed "F" this morning 5/23. Changed to "G" this afternoon. Going to pick it up now. I have waited 419 days for this.

 

what state are you in, wish that was my case in Utah. Being told it should be ready for pick up the second week of June.
