How to: Track your Tundra at the Factory

My build date was 3/21 and I live 20 mins from the port. Still waiting for my platinum.

 

Look my truck up, the ETA is missing, instead there is a hold status: dealerhold, does that mean it’s waiting at the shipping yard for the dealership?

 

I believe that means the dealer is holding the truck for YOU... assuming they took a deposit from you. My truck is currently in the same status.

 

They do have my deposit, according to the dealer factory label the truck was built 5/12. I wonder if Toyota remove the ETA from the website.

 

make sure you Replace the VIN in the URL with your VIN

 

My guess on why Toyota removed the ETA because with the way freight and shipping goes today, it’s becoming less predictable and has a lot of variables in play due to how the logistics world is now.

Also, my tundra was built the same day as yours! My guy told me to expect about 3 weeks.

 

Mine does not have an ETA either.

It was built on 5/13 and is in “F” status and has a “DealerHold”

Solar Octane Trd Pro been waiting for “410 days” my salesman has reminded me.

So close......

 

Anyone able to check on it now? Built on Friday last week.

 

I used the process on page one of this thread. Mine never went to "G" and was at F right after the build date.

Arrived : 16 May

dealer is 6 hour drive from the port.

How do you guys know when it will be built?

 

The dealer I used had the factory invoice on the website, or you can see when the truck is listed on there website and pulled the vin number to search. Most of the invoices on the websites will have the building as a watermark

 

Just received an update from my dealer in Spokane, WA. Truck was built on 4/29 and was shipped. Tracking using the instructions still shows a status of "F". My sales guy told me that their dealership tracking tools aren't working in updating any ETAs, which sounds pretty consistent with what others are hearing on here. He did expect mine to be here early June. He said the "port" for their dealership is in Montana (but used to be Portland). I have a platinum hybrid CM 6.5 bed on order for what it's worth.

I got a Platinum coming to Toyota of Bellingham, was built 4/29 as well. My dealer told me it's on the rail car to Portland, but can't find any more info than that. I am really hoping it gets here before end of month so I can lock in that low financing rate.

 

Not sure if it’s a smart thing to do but the last two Toyotas I purchased I signed the deal prior to the dealership receiving them around two week mark prior to delivery. I’ll do the same with this tundra, It was built on 5/12, Hopefully it come before June but if not I’ll probably sign the paperwork May 31. For the sienna we use the Vin number on a paperwork and we had no issues with lock in a rate.

 

That's good to know! Though, I wonder if it works to lock it in if I have a vehicle to trade, but wouldn't be able to give it to them until I can get my truck

 

Good point, however my dealer is telling me for my trade in I have to do it the day I purchase my tundra...Is this true as I have heard you can trade in before....I am selling to a private owner and doing it a trade in at dealer...

 

Interesting - hopefully we'll have updates soon. My dealer told me that Spokane trucks used to go to Portland, but now they go to Montana. It would make sense that over there on the west side, if it was still by rail to Portland first. We'll see if we end up getting them at the same time! Before the end of the month would be great. Just anxiously awaiting...

 

I’m in the same boat, the positive thing is atleast our trucks have been built, Now there’s a little less stress about the chip shortage since our trucks are completed and we’re just waiting for them to be shipped.

 

Very true. I still have a Bronco on order... I'll look forward to receiving that in 4-5 years once they have that sorted out

 

I'm not sure if this is just my dealer in FL but they took my trade in over a month ago (2020 Tacoma trd OR) and let me continue to drive it while waiting for my new tundra to come in ( hopefully tomorrow) and i put a 2000$ deposit down and locked in my deal/ interest rate at that time. so its do able depending on the dealer and state laws i guess because I'm doing it currently. info has been extremely hard to get for me tho, I've never been able to track my truck in any way all i know is it was built 4/27 and should be here no later than the 19th from what my dealer tells me.

 

Mine was built and shipped 5/5…. Still waiting.. haven’t heard anything besides it’s on the train, maybe a week or two out. This is in MA

 

Mine was built on 5/13. On the train on 5/14 and my sales guy told me should be here in 2 weeks. This is in Colorado.

As of today it has been 412 days since I was added first to the list for a Tundra Trd Pro in Solar Octane.

These last 2 weeks are going to be a brutal wait now that I know it exists, and is on the way to me.

 

my understanding is that this means that they have committed the vehicle to you, but the dealer hasn't received an allocation just yet. that's the club i'm in right now

Very interesting though that yours still has an ETA spot. My build date was 4/29 but I have never even seen an ETA...

 

What does A mean? Assembly???
