I am also doing the eledobleu retros, my question is if I want only my DLR's to have the switch back function do I need to do the DRL delete mod? I have a Platinum edition and the DRL is "clear"lower strip and NOT the amber turn signal. From reading over all of these post it appears that the retros come set up to splice any configuration that you want, is this true? Or do you still need to tell eledobleu what configuration you would like to have light/blink?

Your stock DRL's dont have the switchback capability. But if you have halos, panamera drl shrouds etc that have the switchback function, you do not need to do the amber delete mod as your DRL configuration is different than the other trims.

Did my install last night. Pretty straight forward. Need to go back and tighten up the wiring. But WOW. This may be the best mod I've done on any car. My wife wouldn't drive the truck at night, and I hated to. We've been spoiled with her mdx and everything else we've owned for the last few years has had hid's. This is amazing.

Your took close to the wall to tell. Back up minimum 25ft. Then make adjustments from there.

I'm a good 1.5 truck lengths away. But ultimately i looks like they are slightly off and I need to line them up together a bit more?

Just make sure you align them with enough distance. You need more than 1.5 trucks length to properly align them. The further you are the closer the cutoff's will get together. So you want to make those adjustments like I said minimum 25ft. Ideally you want to be about 50-100Ft away from a wall.

On a flat road, you should barely see the cutoff on the road. Rule of thumb is, if you can see the cutoff on the road very clearly and sharp, its too low! If its pointing straight and wont touch the road at at least 100ft, its too high!

You want distance but without blinding oncoming traffic. I aim most headlights pretty spot on where it needs to be. This obviously varies depending on stock height levels or lifted.

I cant get a picture here in GA as there are too many hills. Soon as I find some flat ground I will post a night shot of the distance of the beam. This goes for all projectors.

Ya thanks Leo, if the truck is lifted does the same rule apply or do you want to go a little higher as to not blind people?

Depending on how much lift you have. 1-4 inches same rules apply. Higher than 5 inches and you want to lower the lights as it will be too high! You will loose distance with high lifts.

Is there a way to shut off the regular blinker? It's way out of sync with the led strip. I figured doing the drl delete would do this.

Question. If I want the strip orange most the time is that possible?

There is currently no way to turn off stock blinker. How out of sync is your LED strip with your stock blinkers?

Only way to have the LED's amber all the time is to re-connect the DRL wire.

It's not that bad. But it's out of sync. Drives me bonkers when I notice it

Can the blinker bulb be removed and not show any errors?

Interesting. I'm doing my install tomorrow and maybe I won't do the blinker switch back if its way out. I already did the DRL delete today. What you think.

Will this DRL Mod work on a 1794 model? I'm about to do retrofit with Mini D2S w/3.0 shroud. The high beam wires brown/white, which one is neg or positive? thanks

Curious what our led strip options are. If I want it orange all the time, is that possible? If I want it orange only when headlights are off is that possible (I'm thinking this may be how they work now, as I feel I saw it like this as my wife was driving one day).

Have a question about the daytime running lights...

I noticed last night that my DRL is on when my headlights are on. I tried putting it in drive and releasing the parking brake.

I had already cut the gray wire and that worked to keep the DRL coming on with the headlights off.

    I have vled switchbacks.

Are the DRL normally on when the headlights are on? And is that a separate switch than what tells them to turn on as a DRL?

Parking lights, mine do the same I know the 1794 and Platinum models don't do it just work as blinker, by the way I like to have them ON with the parking lights, there's is a way if you want to disable it but is another wire you will have to cut or disconnect I think is the purple wire in the center, I hear a guy that just broke the center pin in the bulb to not damage any factory wire, I can suggest to try insulating the center bulb pin using liquid tape or plastidip doing this steps should work as blinker only

You'll see the led is faster so they will catch up with each other. It's not bad. Just drives me bonkers.
