Same here. I can’t stand his stupid little schtick, “Ooo you ruined my chi, I need to go make some laundry detergent to restore my namaste” or whatever crap he comes up with today. But I’m not gonna go out of my way to make sure people know that I blocked him so that I can feel some small little sense of superiority. I’m adult enough to overlook it in the event that he does have some little nugget of good info.

You’ll be Dreaming about me tonight. You’ll even be using the 4-7-8 Breathing Technique I shared yesterday. It really works for stress relief.

Looks like the Mods are peeling off his comments a little at a time. Or, he is doing it himself?

I'll upload pictures later today! I'm about to start working on adding my add-a-leafs and shocks in the rear. Then i'll take pictures of the final lift :worthless:

Currently removing the shocks. Removing the one on the passenger side is a pain in the arse. There’s not much room to move in and my forearms are too stubby to barely fit lol

IIRC, whats needed is a Ratcheting 14mm Wrench. Might need a cheater bar/pipe sleeve over for extension. Some grind a notch on the lower shock shaft for a Vice Grip to hold from spinning the 14mm nut you pictured.

Yeah that would make the job way faster. I just have the average adjustable wrench to work with but I finally got it off and here’s what will be replacing it

finally got to taking apart the leafs. For the add-a-leaf, does the longer end go towards the rear and the shorter end face towards the front?

So the bolt is a bit long for the bump stop to fit over. Does this mean I’d have to cut the excess off the bolt?

Not sure what the underside of the bumps look like. Could you just drill a hole to allow the bolt to ride up?

It would likely be safer to just cut the bolt. I’m sure you know, but If you do cut it, double nut so that when you unthread the top nut it will re-thread the bolt. Hit it a little with a file and it should then be good as new.

the under side is just rubber but I guess I’ll be cutting and file the excess from the bolt. I’d rather have more cushion than more of the bolt just sticking up lol.

Don't let a kid out smart you.
When I did my toytec lift I just took out the overload bar and used the old centering bolt. Went in ok but trying to get all that stuff back in place is such a huge fucking pain in the ass. (please do pardon my french) I took me forever to get the add a leafs in when I did mine. OP please do let at least me know what you think about the Aluma series coilovers. I have their old ones which are just 5100's with eibach springs. But I have you beat on the rear shocks. got some of their last remote reservoir ones ( pic is before my second attempt on the add leafs, didn't take the overload bar out and don't have a way to cut the extendo bolt)

Yeah, we all need to start somewhere. Generally from what I've been reading on this site is that many people want to watch a youtube video for the simplest shit...They don't want to analyze what they are working on...Too reliant on youtube. Try to accomplish said task without watching a video, it forces you to use your grey matter.

That’s exactly what I wanted to do but this gen just doesn’t have much content out there for it so I had to just wing it. But I did use other YouTube videos as reference.

Tbh I do love the new coilovers. The ride instantly became substantially more amazing when I added them before adding the rear parts. After adding the rear parts it helped to make the ride smoother but the coilover did the most work. Also I don’t know much about coilovers but I’d assume their old version would be near similar in performance. I can now get over off-road speed bumps at the mall with ease. The leafs were a pain in the ass to install though. Either the axle came out of alignment or the bolt wouldn’t go in and leafs moving around in there pack, just overall annoyance lol. But I did manage to get them in. It took me maybe 5 hours for one side for the leafs and 2 hours for for the other side since I finally understood how most of the parts moved and stuff.

I like to watch 2 or 3 Youtube videos before taking on a new project. I use the Haynes manual for the technical aspects, but being familiar with the look and positioning of things is helpful. With a little mechanical knowledge, I am able to pick the parts of the videos that make sense and find some good tips. A tools needed list at the beginning of a video is both helpful and a good sign. Have to take a lot of what you see with a grain of salt. Or a whole shaker. Lot of poor mechanical practice displayed on those videos. Avoid the videos where the people aren't wearing shoes, are smoking near an open carburetor, torque everything with a 3/8" ratchet till its "dern tight", or refer to every part they take off as a doo-dad or a whatchamacallit. A-1 puts out some good videos.
