Either I'm doing it wrong or toyota.com sucks for searching for a new truck. It doesn't even let me build a truck on there website unless they have one in inventory near the zip code I use. This can't be right.

On the chevy site I can put in plenty of options and find exact matches in a 2000 miles area. Ford has it for a 100 miles or so.

Toyota doesn't tell me how many miles so I've been throwing up random zip codes but it's not very efficient. Then when I do see a truck I got to that dealers website and it's not there. Any one know of a better way?

    Alot of them
Select the options that you want, color, cab, etc and it will show you what is near. It will show a couple of dealers but will not tell you which one may have it. You would have to call those dealers with the VIN to see if it is theirs. Each dealer has an inventory manager and they are the ones who know what is coming in. Salesman and general managers do not know that info. The site is how I found my truck.

    Ok thanks,

Omgboost, I do use cargurus and that does work good just not sure if every dealer puts there trucks on it. Didn't want to miss any.

Tundra234,, thats what must have been happening. It makes it look like it's from the closest dealer but could be from a number of dealers in the area. It seems toyota does not want to make it easy to find trucks on your own.

Speaking to my local dealer. My salesman told me his manager said as far as a Pro he cannot get one. Not sure about the other models. Toyota is not allowing him to allocate a Pro.
