I really like your truck. Every time I see it I fall for it more and more LOL. I think it is the best looking tundra configuration. RCLB 1st gen. Along with the shell and the paint job with the blacked out trim. Just perfect. I wouldn’t change a thing with what you’ve done with it. Mint

Thanks! the only changes to the current look will be the tailgate badging. and MAYBE the SR5 badge by the top of the pillar since it is effectively a SR5 truck now.

in the future i may armor it. but now that i've got the 2nd tacoma this will likely stay the road warrior tow rig with light offroad use (sliders will still happen though)

05-06 tundras RCLB lost the SR5 option. so i dont believe ANY were sold with power windows. but they are wired for them if you get the door harnesses and stuff

Mine has crank windows. I agree the Max option package or packages were probably mostly marketing fluff on a basic truck ,mostly the nice chrome badges. I remember Toyota used to offer option packages that were basically just gold badging in years past on some of their other vehicles...

Still curious about estimated production numbers for the regular cab long bed 1st gen trucks. It can't be too many if part searches don't include a regular cab as a choice. Anyone have a guess?

It would make sense to wheel the Tacoma. Especially since there are so many of them out there. Your tundra is a little more rare in my book, especially with how nice it looks. A little light wheeling especially with the sliders for that just in case moment, sounds like a plan.

This ol trucks rare, apparently has a super rare bed, has been turned into an SR5 that didn’t exist in 05, has an interesting history including 2 accidents a rollover and being stolen twice. And it has the nutcase called me Owning it now LOL I’m going to keep her for a long time, it’s exceeded everything I’ve asked of it

I told my wife, I’d be willing to lose the backseat if I had an opportunity with your exact truck. I’d go sell my truck with the ridiculous rates right now and be just happy as could be in the little Tundra. I showed her a picture and she really likes it too. You’ve definitely put a lot of love into it.

I recently purchased a 2005 Tundra 8' 4x4. I just entered the VIN to the Toyota owners site and it also came up as "DLX". From what I was told is that these truck were built as work trucks so finding one in good condition is a good find. Loving mine so far. Bought with 128k miles.

My two previous trucks were RCSB, a furd and a dodge. I’m used to the two doors, my DC looks strange to me sometimes with the extra door. To me, it’s what a quintessential truck would be. That’s how they were born LOL

Have you seen the room in a 3rd gen RC?
Different animal than the 1st gen entirely!

I could actually lay down behind the seat in mine if I had to.
I could not get up probably but I could lay down there!

contact at the plant that built these trucks states toal number for tundras from 99-06 was 851,837, sadly they did not count each cab/bed type. just the total number. Factory wise, the MAX was NEVER an option.. possibly port.
