I get that - I just hope they realize they’re essentially putting their life savings into the volatility of the real estate market on what I’d call a bubble. The bank is still going to get theirs!!

Good luck! How much of your tools do you use vs shop tools?

I look at my tool box and just shiver at that cost let alone what it would take to be a full time productive technician.

It's how I ended up in my home. Sold a few condos and kept rolling the equity forward. It's also how I was able to keep my mortgage manageable.

I'll use my basic hand tools/air ratchet and impact just because I have them in a decent cart that I am familiar with working out of. Everything is here and the foreman gave me access to his box for anything I don't have and might need.

1 br here going for between 1500-2500 depending on location. You can get in the ghetto for about a grand+ utilities, it's not the kinda place my white ass wants to spend any time in, that's for sure.
Found an RV park where it's $515+ electric and water for a 30 ft pull through, I think that's about the only way I'll be able to base of operations and still be able to save a lil money

2000sq/ft on 2 acres here is only $300k. I paid $205k for it 2 years ago and did the renovations ourselves.

We were in Hot Springs, AR this year. Pretty area.
What's with the no alcohol on Sunday? I thought we were going to box a grocery store employee the way he ripped a bottle of wine out of our hands.

the wedding venue we attended had a tornado about a mile away. Man that tore some businesses up. Forgot how powerful these storms are until I got a reality check. Felt bad for the owners out picking up the pieces.

If I remember right, we paid $200/sqft in 2018 in a downturn and thought that was a good price. :anonymous:

Today was great y'all. Did a trans flush on an Integra (guy just wanted a dump and pump)
Brake job and alignment on a focus
Toe and go on a 3500 Silverado

Then I watched filibertos take down a B and put up an A, so I got a burrito the size of my forearm for lunch.

I'm going to attempt a damn oil change on this truck, yet again. The last few have not gone so well with having that stupid plastic housing seizing once, and cracking twice.
This is probably the dumbest question ever but which way do I turn that fucker? I mightve actually broken it last time because I was cranking on it the wrong way.

Please don't say righty tighten, and lefty loosy. Tell me to spin it clockwise or counterclockwise, that way we're on the same page.

    7yvsl2ijd9t91~2.jpg

Even better. Do I pull the handle of my ratchet towards me at the front of the truck or do I push it towards the rear?

Do these seize or something? I know the spec is like 12 lbs, why the hell is it always so damn tight?
I'm seriously considering running a remote filter setup or an adapter to use a screw on. This thing has about pissed me off for the last time.

Was a torque wrench used last time on both the canister and the drain cap? The canister can be tightened further when securing the drain cap on the bottom if the person tightening isn’t paying attention.

It's highly doubtful, Ive been having it done at CHAMPS, I figure if they screw it up it's their problem. I had to replace that housing every time from it cracking, the stupid aluminum one leaked so I went back to OEM

They have an OEM aluminum one off a Venza that works if you swap over the perforated tube for the filter. It’s what I put on my truck to not have to worry about cracking.

I’d also suggest buying one of the TRD oil filters if they’re still available - they have green o-rings that are wayyy better quality. Haven’t had to change the canister or drain cap o rings for a couple years now…

The removal tool has to line up on the tabs on the aluminum housing, same as the plastic.

The housing in the pic you posted is the aluminum one.

Either way, if it gives me anymore shit it's going on the next bonfire.
I feel like the Baxter would pay for itself pretty quick if it stress free and doesn't leak

    zTS-601-BK-scaled.jpg

I can see this being a problem also, the whole adaptor coming lose instead of the filter screwing off of it.

Oil change went smooth, no cussing or breaking shit this time. Switched it up to 5w30 hoping to quiet down the VVT noises.

Got the bay all cleaned up and got my lil cart in here now. Wish it was busier, but I'm getting paid hourly so I guess I won't bitch too much.

1st job of the day will be brakes on a Maxima, waiting for customer approval on the rears, got something hanging up in there causing difficulty getting them off.
