I just assume that 3/4 of the people around me are armed. Open carry is a gamble, but I haven't actually heard of anyone having a gun snatched out of a holster in real life
If I'm going shooting or to the range I open carry, normal day it's at 5 o'clock in my waistband in a hybrid urban carry holster

    You operate in good faith.

So, for example, say you want to sell your AR-15 because you just don't shoot it anymore. As a seller the easier things you can do to keep it simple is require that the buyer show you their driver license and you do a bill of sale with both of your names and signatures, along with any ID info for the firearm (make, model, and SN). Only sell to residents of your own state, because interstate sales require the firearm be transferred by a Federal Firearms License holder (FFL) and any FFL transfer requires a background check.

If the buyer refuses ID or anything like that, you don't even meet up.

The "knowingly" part would be if you sold the firearm to your buddy that you've known for years who is a felon. You're screwed at that point. If it's somebody you don't know beyond the ID then you are operating in good faith and cannot be prosecuted if they are lying to you.

Absolutely false. First, weed is still federally illegal, regardless of what states do or if they choose to arrest for it. Second, no state I'm aware of lets you carry in an establishment that primarily sells alcohol.

I’m just north of International Falls in Ontario and visit MN frequently. So in MN you can own a handgun but unless you have a permit you can’t have it with you? I’m assuming that if you have the handgun it’s has to be inaccessible in a vehicle? If not how do you transport it?

Open carry is that it's visible. There are some states that are asshats about it, but the right to keep and bear arms is valid in every state. The amount of headache you want to deal with over it is entirely subjective. People need to quit being such pussies about seeing a firearm, though. It's not a rabid dog that's going to jump out and bite you, and most gun owners aren't ever going to do anything illegal with it.

There are more legally owned firearms in The United States than there are people. If legal gun owners were a problem, you'd know about it.

If it's hidden from view it is concealed. Requirements to carry concealed vary by state, and it's not limitless. There are still some areas that you are not allowed to carry. It varies by state. This lets people vote with their feet, as the founders intended.

As for walking into a store open carrying, that's up to the business owner. It's private property and they can tell you that you can't carry on their property.

Correct. Before getting a permit to carry, handgun would be in a lockbox in the trunk when going to the range to shoot.

You would have to look up MN's specific carry laws.

Here's a tool that will help.

Well, I stand partially corrected. MN does let you carry in a bar, but it's illegal to carry while under the influence with a 0.04 blood alcohol level or more. That's half the driving limit, IIRC.

Must get extremely confusing if you’re carrying and traveling through different States. We travel south to Florida and in you can pass through five States in a day.

AZ has .08 but they can arrest you for 0.0 if they "reasonably" suspect you of being under the influence. It's in the law as "at the officers discretion" We gave consent to blood testing when we got our license and we can't refuse it.

Yup. You gotta do research before hand to make sure you are compliant. It's not that bad though. I carried all the way from WY down to TX and back when I bought my Tacoma.

Is that in relation to carrying, or are you just talking about AZ's driving limit?

It's not bad, actually. If you look at the link I sent you for the USCCA you can click on any state on the map and get an idea of the laws. It takes less than ten minutes to review and plan.

Best thing I've noticed to do is get a good holster that doesn't print too much, conceal, then deny having it unless it's LEO who's asking

Just stumbled on this thread and have not read any posts. The camper is not too heavy as long as you do not add any additional weight. Like passengers, food, water, a chihuahua, etc.

That similar hear in Ontario but we’re a lot stricter when it comes to hand guns. You have to carry your handgun in a locked case with a trigger guard. You have to be a member of a gun club and you can only transport the gun directly from your home and directly to the gun range in the shortest possible travel.

Here in Oklahoma we are encouraged to lock our doors when leaving guns in the car unattended, but it's just a suggestion. If a homeless meth head breaks into your vehicle and takes it, law enforcement suggests politely asking for it back.

Good for you, seriously. I joke but it's a huge problem here. Well over half the guns here in criminal hands are stolen from vehicles. I have one in a console safe in my Tundra, but it sits in my garage unless I'm hauling or towing. I only carry pepper spray in my DD and I have no delusions I'm some special op bro.

Seems obvious, I know. But it'd be easy for me to do, I take it off my hip when driving and it's kinda a pain in the ass to grab it just to pay for gas. If it's really well over half, that means I'm smarter than at least 50% of folks about it.

The laws are very different state to state. If I travel from Oklahoma to Colorado for vacation I even need to change the magazine to 15 rounds or less.
