I was joking about a divorce (it’s a truck), but not joking about taking a 24hr time out. I didn’t want to say anything stupid, and it worked out well. :D
Yes, she took full responsibility, and was damn near in tears. She felt horrible. She knows I’m a car guy, and I really take care of my shit.
The Lexus - now that might have been a divorce

Think it is either 29 or 30 years tomorrow. between military, deployments and contracting, only been about 20 years under the same roof. Keeps things fresh being apart at times.

The Woman nearly busted my sunroof 3 days after I bought my Tundra. She had it open when out and about, then when she got home she pressed the tilt up button instead of the slide button and jammed the sunroof. It wouldn't tilt down or slide at all. She told me and was pretty much crying because she knew how happy I was with my new truck, knew it could be expensive to repair and we didn't have a surplus of cash at the time. Then she disappeared while I went and looked at it.

2 hours of online research and fuckery, I said to hell with it and held the tilt down and slide closed buttons at the same time and just pulled on the sunroof, forcing it closed. It worked, didn't break anything and it functions fine to this day. I went and found The Woman who was hiding in the bedroom and discovered she had been calling various mechanic shops and dealerships to get repair quotes then networking to pick up sideline jobs so she could pay for the repair.

I knew then I had to hold on to her. I was so glad I hadn't lost my cool and anything stupid when she first told me about the sunroof. It's these kinds of tough spots that show you what your partner is made of, and it's how you work through it as a couple that determines the strength of your relationship.

I've had my dirt bike 10 years in May, my snowmobile 7 years, and my truck 2.5 years. That's about it...

Was visiting a friend in Georgia when wife called and asked if I wanted to stay down there a couple more days. She backed into a trailer with my truck and put a decent scratch in the tailgate. She had already scheduled with the dealership to have it repaired. What she didn't realize was I received a confirmation e-mail for the body shop work to be done. Had her send me a picture after I told her I knew. told her to cancel the appt. would have cost a few hundred to repair and even tho I wanted it fixed. Told her it was a truck and not a show car, things happen. Saving this one for when "I" really screw up.

That sounds like a design flaw to me. You shouldn't be able to push a button and jam the sun roof.

Some interesting comments on this thread, for sure marriage isn't "easy" but nothing in life is easy that is worth it.

My wife and I recently celebrated our 27th anniversary. Prior to heading out to dinner for the evening to celebrate, I updated the start up and screen off image in the Tundra. She thought it was so sweet. Best "bang" for the buck I got outta any of my Tundra mods.
