I'd like to know what you do to take care of your paint? That truck looks brand new! Wish my dad gave me a truck like that.

Keep it clean. Wax three or four times a year. The first two years I kept it garaged, but afterwards, I keep two other cars in the garage, so it stays in the sun a lot, plus it stays in the sun all day at work (Texas heat), so I try to always make sure the paint is smooth. Clean with good garnabula shampoo, use a glay wash once a year, and wax 3 to 4 times a year will keep your truck really shinny and new looking.

    You're preaching to the choir...
I'm the family "detail guy" and clay bar, wax and seal our cars a couple times a year.
It's easy (but time consuming) with the right equipment and the right products.
I already did the hood on this truck since there were hard water spots that would not come off by hand.

I usually take 2 to 3 hours on the truck on Sundays, but it's football season, so I'll wash it on Saturday afternoon, that way I can start on the case of Heineken early. By the time I finished waxing, I finished half of the case, the music is too loud, dog is barking and the wife is telling me, "Jeez, I wish you look at me like you look at your truck" !!

I love cleaning the truck, or doing anything to it, or the garage with music on. I keep my music nice and loud ..and usually with some beers too

My truck has been ignored for the last 5 weeks. It's killing me. Had a baby and now I'm struggling to find time to even look at it. Used to wash it twice a week. :annoyed:

Wife get's "her time", babies always definitely gets "their time" and we should get "our time whenever possible. Since the baby is around, we should lower the music down not to wake them up, because wife will always tell you to look after the babies, because she will always be busy in the house, cleaning, cooking, talking to her mom, her sisters, her friends, her co-workers, her neighbors, the cashier in the store, to the cat, whomever. We kinda loose "our time" when babies are around. So its understandable.

That's when you go thru the car wash.

Nothing wrong with having "too many miles". My truck has been to Tampa, FL a couple of times, to Jacksonville, FL once, to Virginia Beach three times, to Washington DC once, to Chicago once, and in or around Texas all the time. I'll much rather drive the truck on long hauls because its more comfortable, sits high, drives like a Cadillac, have the power, and I can go off-road it I needed to.
:burnrubber:183,567 miles on my 07 Limited and counting.
