So I bought my 2017 Tundra about a week ago with 54k miles on it......My friend said I was crazy for not buying a brand new ford or chevy or even a dodge ram......Another friend of mine who is a cerfified toyota / lexus mechanic inspected it and he said it was a solid truck.....I tried to explain to my friend it would run probably longer than I need it to with proper maintenance and be a better truck than his new ford, chevy or dodge, but he would rather pay that new price tag and lose his ass and have more headache than drive a nice used toyota.

How old are your Tundras and how many miles do they have ?

    Too many mods to come

Your truck will out live you if maintained correctly. Tell them you’ll tow them home when they break down. Enjoy it.

    14. just hit 39100 on the way home tonight. In all fairness, I found one that came from an estate, poor old guy didn't drive it much.

2020 Dc SR5 TRD Offroad 28,000mi and I have 5 trucks, so it won't see 2000mi a year. This is my end of line full size truck "Mines bigger than yours". You can't go wrong with a well maintained Toyota.

2014. 155k. Drives like new. 54k is NOTHING on these trucks. Go on cars.com and search Tundra listings, you'll find so many over 200k miles that are in great condition. Many of my coworkers drive german or domestic and always think my truck is much newer than it really is. Then they're floored by the mileage every time. 150k really isn't much on these either imo, just getting broken in. Its a Land Cruiser drivetrain after all.

2011 Tundra with 190k+on the odo. Only big issues have been ac/heat going out and needing to be fixed 2 years ago and the torque converted needing to be replaced due to a shudder.

2019 4.6L purchased new, currently 64,000 miles. I average 300 miles a week. Still drives like the day I bought it, great truck! I’m very meticulous on all maintenance.

My 21 Double Cab is 1 year old today! 5900+ miles. I'm about to retire, so I'll probably be putting more miles on it in '23. Love my Tundra, hate the dealership "mechanics" who muck things up.

Bought my 2017 new from the dealer. 85,000 miles now. The transmission is just now warm butter smooooooooth. Oh boy is it nice.

Pedigree reference. I bought my 1997 T100, V6 3.4L, 4WD, new from the dealer. 270,000 miles. Daily driver. The engine and drive train are just like new. Flawless. Stock water pump. Factory 5 speed manual. Just spooned in a new clutch (the 3rd one).

Your friend doesn't have a clue about automobiles or personal finance. Never take advice from him.

My 2016 SR5 is currently at 211,000 miles. The only problem I've had was, the starter had to be replaced at about 190K.

Check the build link in my signature.
My 2021 will hit 40k miles this weekend.
My 2008 that I traded in for it in fall of 2020 had 298k on the clock and was still running like when I bought it in 2009 with 13k on it. If it wasn't for the fact I wanted a crewmax, I would still be driving that 2008...
