I would lose so much money if I ever sold mine by the time I’m done it’ll be cheaper to drive it into the ground. So when I get rid of it it’ll be for scrap metal and parts

So....check this out....I owned my first gen for 17 years. Sold it with 309000 miles for $1200 to a friend who then had it inspected at a local Toyota dealership. After the truck was looked over the inspector told my buddy he would not be allowed to drive it back off the lot due to rust issues with the frame. Toyota gave him a rental car and also installed a brand new frame on the truck at no charge. Pretty cool. That truck might be on the road for another 17 years.

I’ll probably keep it forever or until my 2 year old boy wants to take over. There’s the 1 million mile plus tundra with the 4.6 engine so the larger engine should last longer.
It’s so comfortable. Not much super fancy high tech gizmos so less things to break.

The dealer I bought my Tundra from offers a LIFETIME warranty for North America. The only way I'll upgrade is to a diesel when I buy a firth wheel trailer.

I had to both sign a document and verbally agree in a recorded video that I would keep mine 10 years.

HOWEVER, my wife forgot to address my getting ADDITIONAL cars...like an 80s e28 5series BMW. Shrug.

I have a 2007 Prius with 169,000 miles on it. The 2018 Tundra will be my last vehicle, I hope . It should last about 15 years at least.

I kept my '07 Tundra Limited CM for 12 years and 11 months. Put 196K miles on it before trading it in three days ago for this 2017 Tundra 1794 CM...

Oh, but I still have a 1984 Toyota Pickup (they didn't have "Tundra" or "Tacoma" back then...Just "Pickup"...) that was bought new in 1984...20180715_190749.jpg

I was planning on trading it in because it needed lots of work but I just dropped 6.5k on a new suspension and tires so I’m commited now. I think I’ll pay it off and keep it forever, once it’s paid off I’ll buy a new GM diesel and always have my tundra for camping when I’m not towing and fun 4 wheeling trips.

I bought mine to last until I die. I have a 2007 Prius with 170,000 plus on it and it still runs like new. Then my kids can fight over it. My grandson Jason gets the Prius when he turns 16. And the Prius will be 16 also.

Forever, although I said the same thing about my 2010 Tundra and ended up trading it in on my 2017 last year on a whim. I was actually out car shopping with my daughter and decided I had to have a new truck. My Tundra with her C-HR parked behind we both love are vehicles.

until the next gen comes out probably :)

have to see what features it has compared to the current one.

    edit :

    1. push to start (with sensors on driver/passenger doors - our old Tacoma only had driver side sensor, sucked)
    2. auto up/down all window
    3. leds all around (outside and inside)
    4. entune 3 (remote start and status via entune app - negates 3rd party remote start install)
    5. more storage in crew max cab (like the double cab)
    6. led bed lights
    7. cubby holes in bed (like the Tacoma - miss this a lot especially the door storage one that held our tie down straps)
    8. platinum full color matched (including mirrors and door handles and more on the rear bumper)
    9. 360 view (like the 2018 camry/rav4 have now)
    10. hud display (like the 2018 camry has)

Goal is 20 yrs. I got almost 17 out of a Chevy....20 should be no problem for a yota.
