How long will you keep your Tundra?

Just sold my lifted 2007 Toyota Tundra 5.7 Quadcab TRD 73000 miles because I wanted the new "bells and whistles". Kept that truck 10 years and only changed the oil and brakes. Just bought a New 2017 Toyota Tundra 5.7 Crewmax TRD with all the "bells and whistles". I am already itching to put a lift on it. So I'm guessing another 10 years.

10 yrs probably. Hopefully more. Next vehicle will be some degree of used Lexus ES 300h for a commuter.

 

Well, I recently got my 2017 because my daughter turned 16, and wanted my 2011. My son just turned 11, and is already calling dibs on my new one. So...five years based on my son’s plans.

 

The plan is for this to be the last truck I buy. My last truck before this one was a '99 Chevy that I bought in 2000. It lasted me 15 years as a daily driver and my son is still driving it today. That's without me really maintaining it the way I should have.

Considering this one is a Toyota and I'm not using it as a daily driver means it should last me 20+ years easily. I just need to properly maintain it and resist the urge to make major mechanical modifications or beat on it too much. By the time this truck shits the bed, I will either be retired or dead myself! Either way, I probably won't have much need for a truck by that point

 

I will drive mine into the ground or until it becomes a unrepairable money pit. I plan to keep my 15' DC for a long time and hopefully it lives up to its quality and longevity reputation.

 

Plan is to keep this one for 10-15 years. However, I'm still tempted by trading for a Crewmax for the space for the little one(s?)

 

Until the wife says I can get another one lol

 

Until my wife and I have a kid. I think shortly after that point I’ll trade it for....another Tundra. Crewmax this time.

I hear rear facing car seats and the DC don’t exactly work well together.

 

Actually rear facing car seat worked quite well in my DC. My almost 3 year old grandson got moved to the front once he got older. Loves the view much better now when I'm wheeling.

 

This is my first Tundra and so far I really like it. Maybe in three years when this is paid for and the next gen Tundra is out and appeals to me more then my current truck I will trade. If the only thing they improve is MPG or "soften" the looks I'll keep mine because it wouldn't be worth it to me.

Forever, I still have a 76 celica that I've owned for 12 years and it hasn't been running in the last 10 years...

 

I still own 3 of the 4 vehicles I have ever bought/had. 1978 Trans Am was my first car when I turned 16 (dad bought new in 78). 2002 Tundra I bought in 2006, has 260k on it and still going, wife drives it now. 2014 tundra 1794 bought in 2016, plan to drive it for 10+ years.
Only other vehicle I ever had was a 1992 Oldsmobile delta 88 that was my college car I drove for 5 years until it was totaled by hail.

I plan on keeping my 2017 sr5 cm 4x4 for a long time. Over the last 10 yrs or so i have owned half a dozen tacomas and a fj. However since my 3 kid was born my wife and i decided i needed a bigger truck so the tundra fit the bill perfectly. Kids enjoy the extra room as well. So it will be in my garage for the long haul.
If i was single without kids i would no dout own another fj though. I loved that thing. One day i will habe another one but kids gotta grow up first. Ha

 

My company vehicle allowance program requires that your car/truck can't be more than 6 years old. Trying to get all my mods done quickly so I have enough time to enjoy it before selling. Probably have about 170k miles on it by then, will do a private sale and use the money as a down payment on a 4th gen.

 

Well when I got my 14 I had originally thought that I would keep her for 10 years. Well she only has 155000 Kms and honestly seems as tight as she was when she was new maybe need new shocks and has been good,,,,,,,, but,,,,,,,, I’m trading her in on a CM (I think) just can’t decide between Platinum or 1794.

Kept my Tacoma for 11 years, probably keep the Tundra around 10 unless something really special comes out in the next gen.

 

Will keep it for at least 10 years unless they gonna make something better that this generation and has to be V8 can't beat V8 with anything

 

My youngest is 5 now, so at least 10 years and hand it down to him if they don't have flying cars by then or gas isn't $10gal. Tundra is my first truck and I'm really liking it. Maybe I'll get another in 10 years and that would be my last.

 

I will keep mine for as long as she runs. The green Durango in the pic is a 2000 with 245,000 miles on her. I would like to see that out of the Tundra if possible.

 

After owning about 40 vehicles and im under 40years old. I cant say how long.. I always buy used or slightly used and they are paid off. I thought I was going to keep the 4runner forever but sold it after 3 years.

So I am going to say the same about this truck,, I will keep it forever.. lol

Wife says why do you need to change vehicles all the time. I respond; because I hate trading wives.

 

I just surpassed 3000 miles on my truck, and i know it's not even broken in yet. It drives very well, and has served my needs such as carrying firewood, and camping off the beaten path. I do have a concern that it won't have that warm & fuzzy feeling i had with my Tacoma. I really connected with my Taco.

 

I hope for as long as it’ll last me, I’ve been searching for a vehicle that could keep my interest longer than 3 years and I think the tundra just might do that for me
