You might be on to something. They do it with NFL draft picks, why not car reservations? Sell your reservation +cash for someone to get a better spot in line.

I mean, many Tesla groups sell their reservation for the deposit they put down on it

Not a bad idea. Speaking of dealerships, man they are crazy sometimes. I test drove that Tacoma I wasn't interested in just to feel out a used powertrain as you know and the salesman asked if I had been there before and if so who was my salesperson. So I told him who sold me my old Tacoma and I told him that if I make up my mind of what vehicle I'm getting I will come back and see what their allocations are. Today at work I received a prompt to opt into texts which I opted out of and 2 voicemails saying she had "my" Tacoma ready for me :bananadead:

When we were shopping for my Tundra, I test drove one from the dealership we normally used, and they let us take it to lunch and everything. I dropped it off before my kid had to go down for a nap. My kid sucked at napping so the wife was laying down with him. Sales guy called multiple times trying to close the deal on it, even though it wasn’t the one I wanted. Then his manager called, gave me a pretty good price on it and had me thinking, but I told him I’d need to discuss with my wife and she couldn’t talk at the moment, cuz, you know, $40k+ purchase. He pulled the “why do you need to talk to her? It’s your truck” thing, so they lost our business on that one. We bought from the other Toyota dealership by us the next day. Dealerships are slimy.

When I shopped they let us keep the tundra for a day. I drove the piss out of it, came back and said I’ll take it, but I want a different one

Is there enough bandwidth to post all Larry's former cars and the amount of time he owned them? I need to get up to speed.

Lol. Just thinking. First world problem for sure trying to decide if you should keep your new vehicle or get a newer vehicle lol. Just wondering what gas prices will end up doing, wondering how long before a dealership emails me with a frontier with the right trim and packages (they emailed me about a white pro4x today but had no packages), wondering how well they will hold their value and how reliable they will be (they have a plastic transmission pan and the filter is integrated in the pan so the pan is supposed to be replaced at $150 with a fluid change and the fluid is like $45 a quart ), wondering if buying a somewhat first model year is worth it (engine and trans were put in the 2020 frontier and the boxed frame is mostly the same but there's a fair amount of new stuff too.) Lastly trying to be sure it's worth giving up AWD, heated wiper resting area, and back up cam spray nozzle :D lots of thought goes into this stuff man:anonymous:

That sounds awesome! I wish the tundra had that. That would be hard to give up in the winter.

I don’t blame you. I research the shit out of everything including things that cost nowhere near what a vehicle cost.

Most Tundras have the heated wiper spots - I saw this when I took my cowl off to route the whips for my ditch lights. Not sure what package that would be in or if it’s across the board though.

Well as you see in my signature I am qualified to give you advice on this. I would say that you go all out and spend as much money as possible as soon as possible.
