    Hi all,

Just wondering how many miles folks are getting out of the stock Michelins on the TRD off road? I know it will vary a bit based on driving conditions, but my truck will be mostly a pavement princess and probably will do little to no towing. Thanks.

Lot of variables in there. Last set I had on my GMC I got over 60k.

OEM tires are like a box of chocolates ~ you never know what you're going to get.
My compadre bought a new rig with Hankook tires installed ~ they lasted some 75-80K miles.
He liked them so well he went out and bought another set of the same tires.
The OEM tires on my rig went 32K miles.
The replacement Michelin Defenders typically will go 70-80K miles on a well maintained rig.
    Your Mileage May Vary.

I got about 36k out of mine but they still had some tread when I replaced them. I also towed 6,000 pounds for a couple thousand miles during that time.

Many folks claim or believe that the tires provided to the manufacturers are of a lower grade or quality and swear they do not last as long as ones bought at tire merchants. Even tire sales guys have chimed in on this.

We had Michelins on a new Lexus GX460 that only lasted 20k miles! I do think that they were too soft for the full time 4wd and weight of the GX.

I just replaced mine at 35k. They weren’t able to hang in off-road conditions any more and I knew that I didn’t want to do any winter driving with them. Replaced them with Falken AT3s.

Assuming proper pressure and consistent rotation, the biggest variable is how many turns/stops you make. Highway driving is a lot easier on tires than city. My experience is that 100% city driving can cut 1/3rd of the tire life down easily

I switched mine out around 35,000, I could've gotten another 5,000 out of them, but they were starting to get low on tread and winter and hunting season was coming up so I changed them out. Plus I wanted to get a more aggressive tread on it as well.

Mine only lasted 15k but that was by choice upgraded to worthy offroad tire.

Stock tires on my Platinum were beyond toast when I bought it at 22k miles.

Worked out well because I used it as a negotiation point, even tho I was going to replace them immediately with beefier AT’s anyhow.

Toyota’s 30psi recommendation is also a joke. Thats maybe fine for driving straight, but bump it up and it handles way better, probably extends tire life as well

Which Michelin’s? My LTX tires went 65,000 and still had a lot of life.

I got 56k out of mine before I swapped to Cooper AT3 XLT'S. Tires still had a decent amount of tread left, but I wanted to go bigger.

I have always gotten at least 60K out of ever set of Michelins I have used.

What Michelin tire is standard on the TRD OR?

If anyone is wondering mine ended up lasting 42K miles.... Could have maybe gotten another 1K out of them, but winter is coming!

I had about 4/32" left of tread when I pulled my LTX AT2s at 32800 miles. could've made it a bit longer but with winter coming I wanted to get my suspension and tire upgrade done sooner rather than later.
