I'm surprised it's a Trane. My dad's Trane sat for 10 years without being turned on. He's now at year 20 (I think) and it's still going.

I imagine that was the Cadillac of the time! 18 SEER is hella efficient even by today's standards. Are you an AC tech?

Somewhat. A low temperature reefer tech turned AC tech.

86* right now in the PNW. But honestly I’d take the 115* I felt in Scottsdale last month

It looks like it matches what's in the unit. (2nd one is blurry but it's hot and I'm tired)

I'm not sure what the price was because I was just picking it up from the wholesaler. When he said $2500, I assumed he was talking the whole she-bang, installation and shit.
    IMG_1513.jpg IMG_1514.jpg

The AC guy was surprised too. He said whomever installed it probably didn't register it. It would have been the rich people that lived here before us poor folk (getting poorer by the minute) bought the house.

Oh you're the poor folk who bought your house? We are for the house we bought...and after a cedar privacy fence, new flooring, and now the AC within the first year of ownership, well we're a movin on downnnnnnn to the poor side (cue the Jeffersons theme song)

Lady who had it before us was some kind of oil person from around Corpus. This was her 3rd or 4th vacation home. It was 2015 and oil prices were dipping so she thought she should unload one of them. We were lucky enough to get it and we got it cheap. It's all catching up to us now though. :(

She actually cried, a lot. The deal almost didn't go through. We were at the closing and they were in another room. One of the workers came in and told our realtor she needed to get in there because the lady was backing out. When they were leaving, she grabbed my wife's arm and said "You take care of my house." I heard her husband tell her "You're the one who wanted to sell it!"

Our realtor told me a couple of months ago the lady wanted the house back. $1 million and it's hers. Maybe $1.25 now, with the housing market and all...

The next-door neighbor's dog keeps digging under the fence.

Mid to high 90s. If you just accept the fact you're going to sweat and so is everybody else it's not that bad and you get over it.

It's Florida spring swimming season. Dont tell the tourists, they can stay at the beach.

Looks like another warm night downstairs... AC guy stopped by to pull the refrigerant to get it ready for tomorrow. Has a walk-in cooler to work on tonight.

I guess I'll be sleeping upstairs.

It’s also been so hot and dry that for the first time ever we have fire ants inside the house. Set up liquid bait stations inside and amdro outside around the perimeter. I have fertilizer that has insecticide, but haven’t been able to use it with zero rain in so long.
