~230 miles each way, even though local dealers were only ~20 miles...but they're rotten-ass liars that I wouldn't give a cup of piss much less purchase a vehicle from, even if it was the exact right one.

How does @Backroadgee with 68 posts and been on the forum for 6 weeks get the "Well Known Member" moniker, but @Tundra234 have 18k posts over nearly 7 years still have the "New Member" moniker?

Live in Denver, bought in St Louis. Twice. Easy process and exact vehicle without the add-on costs. And, as others have said, it a good excuse for a road trip.

    Just getting started...
2,000 miles for me. Flew to Sacramento, CA and drove it back to Houston over 2 days. I could not get my preferred configuration (or top 3) thanks to Gulf States Toyota limitations.

1794 Long Bed, TRD OR, TRD 3" lift, Light Cream interior, HUD

I actually ran into problems buying out of state, as some of the regions prohibit selling out of state or it would negatively impact their allocations (typically small markets).

At the time I purchased, there were no 1794 or Platinum long beds coming through in Texas or the GST region. And forget about "ordering."

We are the same, after the youngest is off to college, we are out of here.

I'm about 0.9 miles from my dealer (0.7 if I sneak in the back lot). When I made this dealer "My Dealer" I lived about 1:15 away.

Back in February 22 I found a Dealer in Texas who would sell me at list price, and no 5K to 8K over invoice.
I flew from Atlanta to Texas for $98.00 1 way obviously.
Then I had a 2-day road trip back home to get used to my new truck! :oldglory:

I live in the SF Bay Area. I couldn't find the model I was looking for. 2023 Platinum crewmax long bed, non-hybrid.
Found one in St Albans City, VT, (Handy Toyota) 3,055 miles from home.
Did everything over the phone and email. had it shipped to my work and took an Uber to work, 11 miles from home.

What is the best tool to search for new truck bargain prices. I too am cool with flying one way to pick up a truck and save thousands over what the local dealers will sell them for. In the upper Midwest a couple thousand off sticker seems ti be the best they will do.

I use Carguru to find the Tundras that match my specs. Then I see what the dealer's prices look like. Check this dealer.... https://www.foxtoyotaclinton.com/search/new-toyota-tundra-clinton-tn/?cy=37716&md=313&tp=new Some priced nearly 10% off sticker.

I drove 460 miles round trip. No deals or even fair prices in the Twin Cities. Went to a Chevy/dodge dealer in Laverne. Mn. 2022 1794 w 15 K miles for $56000.00 before tax and license. All others that were close were $60K plus. This was two years ago.
    ‘Good luck. D

Yeah, the Twin Cities dealers won’t work on the numbers much at all.

Unfortunately I live in an region that gets only leftover new Tundra's and rarely any used. From the get go I knew I was going to have to travel out of state.
So after searching for 6+ months a long day trip driving to Wisconsin didn't deter me.

I'll be flying to Baltimore next week to pick mine up, and will drive it 920 miles to get home. Doesn't bother me, pretty excited about the ride.

Live in Colorado, flew to Eugene, OR and drove it back ~1200 miles. Similar to others though, it was the color and trim combination--Smoked Mesquite 1794 TRD 6.5 bed. Actually just ordered a lift for it, looking forward to getting it elevated.
