I had this POS 2 wheel drive work van.. I pulled down this long drive to work on a home I was building .. it snowed all day
when it came time to go home for the day, I could not crest the hill of that drive.

being the creative scrounge that I am... I looked around the job & found a box of sheet-metal screws the furnace installer had laying by the furnace..

I zipped them into my rear wheels with my screw gun... carefully drove home then pulled them out. didn't loose one of them:thumbsup:

Would a quad with plow be enough for a 750ft driveway that has a hill? Or would I need a bigger gun?

It would probably work but there are better tools. IMO a truck plow isn't worth the money unless you're using it to plow for money. My next bigger purchase is a cabbed tractor and front mount blower, more expensive but should last the rest of my life.

I plowed mine with a compact utility tractor put a 550 lb box Scraper on the back for extra traction.
I have a hydraulic snow blade and front end loader I use the blade most of the time.

Depends on how much snow you get and how wide the driveway is. I sprinkle a few studs in the front and put another notch in the plow so it has a bettor angle. I also got rid of the cable and use nylon now, pain in the ass fixing cable. Put a spring pack in to avoid over lifting the plow after to many beers.

Also depends on if you can plow downhill and leave the snow at that end, and back uphill with no snowload. My 800 Outlander handled a ton of snow, way more than i thought it'd be able to before i started using it for that, but when you get a good windrow in front of the blade, the uphills get tuffer, and that quad weighed about 8-hundo.

Since we can get a bunch of snow from an "Albequeque Low" in Monument, Colorado I have a very nice Husqavarna. (I don't mind shoveling but my two herniated disks don't appreciate it much!)

If it's an inch or 2 I'll use my backpack leaf blower or shovel. Deep snow I use my Ariens 28 deluxe SHO. Heated grips are nice and the super high output will blow snow from my sidewalk, across the street and into the neighbors lawn. Excuse the messy basement.
