So, am I missing something with the dash mpg indicator you guys are talking about, or is that a feature that didn't come on some of the base model Tundras? I have a clock and temperature readout, and two buttons that change the clock, but I get the impression my truck doesn't have the mpg estimator.

One other thing to consider is summer blend gasoline vs winter blend. Im not sure if this is something done across the country, but I know it's done in the south. Summer blend gets a little better mpg if I remember correctly.

So I’ve had 2 tanks in a row of mixed driving that were 16 on the dot and 15.6 - that one was affected by hauling appliances on the highway, including an upright fridge that probably caused a lot of wind drag. Last tank was 19.7, which was all highway, which I was pretty happy about.

My coworker/friends' 2007 4.6L doesn't have the MPG indicator. When I do get a chance to do mixed driving I do average around 15.5 with my 5.7L. I'll my friend what his 4.6L MPGs are.
