Paying off new furniture we bought. We purchased furniture from name brand stores and fell apart in a few years. This time around we went to a family owned store and its hand made in U.S.A. Just like our Tundras.

difficult to find real good furniture made in U.S.A. anymore. Everything I find is made overseas. Don't we have trees here ? :)

Place I went to let us choose the wood (oak) we wanted the bed frame made out of. It takes several weeks to get but worth the wait.

Always try to come out even on my tax return. Last of three kids recently graduated from college and all have real paying jobs! That's my tax return. Like my truck just as it is. :)

I pay no federal tax throughout the year and pay it all at the end of the year. The way I see it, the government is just going to sit on my money and pay me no interest. I might as well put that money to work and pay my dues at the end of the year.

My bank account is well fed. :D

If I lost all income it would be about 2 years before I began having issues paying bills. Most of the stuff I own I bought outright, so I don't have alot of monthly payments.

I have never not done my own taxes. I have owned my side-business for 7 years now and do those taxes too. Makes no sense to me to loan out money to an entity that isn't a family member at 0 interest.

If you don't spend it all, you don't have to figure out how to come up with it later.

Very nice. I hope to one day soon be out of debt completely and actually putting money into savings. Then possibly an investment of some sort.

saving is not just about saving in the traditional sense. To me it is more about spending wisely and taking care of what you own. One of my kids kind of gets this and one doesn't at all.

Funny how these threads morph ...
I'm also setting where I owe absolutely nothing on anything and am pretty close to where my income in retirement will equal my current salary. Once I hit this tipping point I am so out of here!
