Why Whipple and not Magnuson? Perhaps priced differently? The Magnuson is more common and proved on Tundras.

    True.....
It's really sucks when they happen at rush hour!!
It could take the Wife over two hours to get home from work some days.
The Westpark Tollway helped a lot when it opened.
As a Machinist we started at 6:00AM and got off at 3:00PM Loved the Hours!!!
No traffic in the Morning or Afternoon.

    I'm out here near Katy.
But it's pretty much the same all over town.

    I call BS!
225, 45, beltway, Dixie Farm all suck at rush hour.

Edit: NVM I totally missed the hours you listed. The mornings aren't as bad as the evenings. 5:30-6am the traffic starts.

400 miles on a 38G tank, which in reality is about 30G when you factor in the safety that Toyota has.
That's not bad, I am regular NA, 500-550 miles on a full tank to E light. I did 600 (~593 miles) miles on a tank on vacation drive, it was mostly highway (98%) and flooring it pretty hard, was riding 95mph most of the way, 45/50 when crossing some small town.

I did notice that traffic is getting worse, earlier.
    I used to do a 7:30a - 4:00p shift and I can leave 6:30a from Barker Cypress/290 to Westhiemer/Beltway 8 around 7:05a, give and take.
Before I stopped working there, I had to leave around 6:15a in order to not get stuck and be there around 7a....

Return traffic used to be a-ok around 4p, not anymore.
I do miss working on the East side of town, 6a - 3p, if I can get on I-10 in time, I see the rush crowd from the rear view mirror around 5:20a.
Getting home is different, had to cut through some downtown to get back to 8/West Park Tollway, but am usually home before 4p.

Just don't leave the house if you don't have to! Hehe....

On another note, does anyone know when 610 West Loop is not clogged like the bathroom is?

I just avoid Houston as much as possible. I like to take 1462 to 36 to 71, to 10, when I'm headed West.

Talking about retirement. I am still young? I think. I am in Europe right now, semi-retired as we speak :) Just got back from Japan. I can't and won't stop traveling. So I have no more idea where home is. World just got smaller and my time on this earth got shorter? So I am running as fast as I can for what I have left.

Yeah...the Wife and I used to travel a lot.
Kinda got burned out on it.
We prefer to just hang at the lake these days.
I'll get up early and go fishing and come back home and take a nap.
In my mind thats a good day.

In 2027 the grand parkway is supposed to be started in Alvin. We're basically going to be a Houston suburb soon. I miss the rural small town feel this town use to have when I was a kid.

Katy was the same way when we moved here as a kid.
There were so many Geese during the season they'd damn near cover the sky.
Dont know where they go now but it ain't here.
Used to ride our dirt bikes all over the place, now days you'd get pulled over in short order.

I gotta head to Cypress tomorrow to pick up a bed rug. Scored it for $150 less than the original asking price. I been stalking it on FBM for months haha. Low balled em yesterday and met in the middle. Score!
