No bueno. Prices are out of whack, for private parties and everyone else. Some really strange times and I won't pay that even if I have the money. Is the principle. So change of plans with a twist.

While working on this switcheroo, I prematurely sold my 2013 for $18K in less than 12 hours on facebook marketplace even with the last accident in the CarFax record. Offer was too good to turn down so I took it.

My son is in Japan for 3 months for an internship so I need to figure out what to do for his ride. Most likely won't be a Tundra with the way prices are going now days. Unless I get lucky as I did with my current Tundra which I doubt it.

Anyone recommend dealerships? I have not bought anything locally in years. Usually a Fred Haas customer but all my peeps are gone.

Wife is wanting a 4Runner, used and we are need someone to work financing too.

@RobertD can you help to hook it up?
@Crowyer does Dallas sound too far? I have gotten a car through a contact of Robert and the experience was really good given the circumstances.
For finance, I would highly recommend checking out local credit union, some might have good rates if you ask around.
Even if you beat it by 1% to the dealer, that's still money saved. Also, I just take whatever the dealer throws me, but I already have CU back up ready, so as soon as the account number is out from Toyota's side, I switch. Plus, most CU would refinance the rates without too much trouble and at least the ones I worked with/asked about, didn't charge a penny for refinancing to a lower rate.

aye..... I hear you, the price and everything has gone out of the hell's gate at this point.
I saw a white, possibly 20/21 TRD PRO CM in white this morning on my way to work, and it reminded me of you and your son, so I asked.
That's a nice internship at Japan for 3 months, perhaps import a Hilux? Hehe....

Thanks, ill connect with Robert. Credit unions and I do not get along. I've been with several and they never have approved me for anything. Even when my credit score was in the low 700's. They aren't what they used to be. Im about an hour north of Houston. So I am open for day trips to look.

Toyota of Huntsville seem to be some good folks. I know the GM there after I done my supercharger. They look hungry so I know you will get a good deal there. They had a low mileage I was negotiating (being cheap arse me) and they sold it for the full asking price.

I drove by them the other day. They are probably the closest to me, about half an hour away. I need to check their inventory as well. Thanks for the heads up.

Sorry about your experience with CU.
But yea, shop around, both Huntsville and Burleson are good, so you can't go wrong there.

Anyone else get some rain last night?

That, with some good gusts, took out our power most of the night but we are thankful. Our neighbors didn't fare so well...

AFAIK no casualties and no major injuries. Not pictured, my neighbor across the street had a big pine fall across his back fence from an empty lot. He's 90 years old so I helped him clear debris so he could assess the damage last night. One of the branches looked like a spear run through a shield made of cardboard scraps (shingles & plywood). His satellite dash was folded like a taco and lay crumpled on the ground next to his Generac. Crazy amount of debris.

Does anyone know anywhere to get Astro gears that does not break the damn bank?
I went to an Astro game the other week and they are charging $300 for a shirt.... $300!!!!!!

I do want to get my kids a T-shirt or a uniform type, but $300 a pop is a hard no.

I get all my stuff through JCPenney's Sports Fan Shop. I see kids jerseys on there for around $60-70. Not cheap but still cheaper than buying it directly from Astros merch outlets. If you do eBay you can find knockoff jerseys and sometimes there are deals on FB Marketplace.

Ah, JCP, OK. Haven't really shopped there in forever and some more....
I did see some in Walmart the other day, just passing by as I was short on time.
But anything with Walmart, I question the authenticity of the product there....lol
