I was born on the equator and raised on the coast. My ass needs a tan line to function properly.

Those of you in Houston, do you prefer using Discount Tire or Tire Link for your wheel and tire needs?

Discount Tire all the way. For the past 25 years. They're solid, price and service. They also price match and -10% if you find a better deal.

DT has been pretty good, unless you need some very stock tires, Costco might be good in that department.

I’ve used TireLink and Discount Tire. I don’t like the wait at Discount Tire and Tire Link is more convenient and faster. Discount is also everywhere, even out of state.

However, I’ve had to retorque my lug nuts a few times after Tire Link as they over torqued them and didn’t use a torque wrench.

Thanks Gents, Discount it is! I do like that there are more locations in the event I do have a tire issue and I'm many miles away.

That's especially true unless you know your travel will always be near a Costco.
I am in Houston, but have used DT in Dallas/CO/NM.... good idea that multiple location would make work fast and fuss-free.

One of their best selling points. They even had them in Oklahoma when I lived there.

Costco sucked for me. Never again. Takes forever to get them done and if you have issues it takes forever again. For me in Sugarland as you can see the reviews (2.8) on the Costco Tire Center they're HORRENDOUS. On my Pilot they left 3 lognuts out of 6 on the front driver side and 2 on the rear driver side. I drove like that for several miles and days. When I went back to complain they said that was on me and that I took the SUV to another shop as they never make that kind of mistake. To make matters even worse they wouldn't replace the lognuts with the original OEM ones and they actually asked me to take it to the dealership, replace them and they will cover the cost. They wanted me to fix their fuckup. I told them to fuck off, and asked for my old tires back and return their tires. Of course they didn't have my old tires so I got a full refund. Never again with Costco and canceled my membership.

With DT is perfect. They will fix shit right away in any place there is a DT. My kido in Lubbock had issues with the KO2's on the 2013 and 30 minutes later was all done, no questions asked.

Sorry to hear about your Costco disaster, mine is much better but I have a weird habit of always double checking things that aren't done by me.
DT has install my tires a couple of times, the last two times, I requested certain PSI, and of course, three are and one is way off, I am talking 38/28 PSI.
Sometimes it is the small things like this that pisses me off.
Then of course I re-torque my own wheel nuts when I get home, just to spec and make sure they didn't forget.

I am using my friend Costco iPhone app membership QR code to get the 93 gas which is cheaper than anywhere else :) I need 93 for the supercharger. They're still good at something I guess.

Gas is one thing I am pretty sure about Costco. On the road I will use theirs, or Shell, and if I can't find either and I am on E, then, Oh well..... but that never happens.
Their gas is cheaper by a bit, in CA was at least a buck cheaper, which makes it a no brainer because a buck or more?!

    Yeah, thanks.
I haven't been serious, but i have been just looking for S&G, but if something extra clean or decent came along, and the price was right, I would entertain making it happen.

Has anyone looked into getting a 6112/5160 setup? I'm considering it because I hear it rides significantly better than stock while also still maintaining it's towing capabilities. Any North Houston shop recommendations as well?

Anyone wants some good Michelin tires? I have a set if Michelin LTX AT2 275/65/R18 almost brand new with only 8000 miles on them. Thread depth at 10 - 10/32nds as per Discount Tire digital measurement. I have pictures upon request.
