    Ponder this....

If shit hits the fan around here -

you/me/we will stop getting a paycheck

the welfare folks will still get a direct deposit every month.

most folks are unaware of this.

Amnesty is the ultimate hiden agenda and guess where 21+8 Mil voters will be going? On the other hand this is our problem to solve so I keep and open and emphatic mind. Sure give them amnesty but they can't vote for the next 20 years or so, I would be OK with it.

I'm a naturalized citizen. As is my sister. My mother is Chilean and came here with my dad (native Texan). Immigrant blood is all I know. Every immigrant I know is a staunch supporter of immigration laws.

Nicer but their patience is running out. The current council and mayor sold out to developers and put themselves in the red with this grandiose Hyatt hotel they had built. Instead of $86M it ballooned to $108M and they didn't budget for initial operating costs. Old Pine trees this area is known for are being cut down like crazy to clear land for more housing and apts. The mayoral election is headed for a runoff and the election scene is pretty chaotic

On top of all this, corporations are buying up houses like crazy to turn them into investment properties. I got a call a while back from a company wanting to buy my house, and it’s never been listed for sale.
If nothing is done to curb this, our kids and grandkids will be lifelong renters and home ownership will be something only the wealthy can experience. Neighborhoods will just be full of airbnbs.

Those buzzard corporations know property taxes are chipping away at ppl's bank accounts and resolve. It's only a matter of time before an owner sells and they just need to call on the right day. Add to that neighborhood/cities like my own where the old are the primary homeowners and they die off then the kids don't want the house - easy pickins.

Do you have generator powered with natural gas? Did you have to get someone to come out and plumb a gas line to the exterior of the house?

I ate at THP twice, not really a fan, but a-ok. Some places are like real grease, and sorry, I am past that stage of eating fat with meat. My recent downturn of health has me triple think my choice of food and unfortunately, it's not looking good.
Bright side is, I am still able to enjoy most stuff, just in smaller portion.

I was in Livingston and on my way back to Coldspring when the skies turned black and wind picked up. At one point I told my coworker that if we see a funnel cloud come down, we ditch the truck and head to the nearest ditch. We kept going and saw a ton of debris on the road, trees knocked over and even a small fire from a downed power line with the tree still on it (called that one in).

By the time we got back to the campus, we were told to go home but by then the wind was blowing rain in sideways and I thought the flag pole was gonna keel over. Transformer blew and we lost power.

Waited til the wind died down to try and make the 40 min drive home and made it without an issue. Lots of trees are down and several on power lines. First responders are real busy right now. My mom said over 40k folks in MoCo don't have power. I'm shocked we still have ours on.

We have 3 dead trees that need to come down and the storm took care of one of em.
