I work for an electrical supply. We’ve had a few times over the years where guys have broken in and stolen copper wire and tools. Since losses come out of my pay, I’d love to get some quality time with those guys.

Wow and glad at least one got caught. How did you hold em? At gun point? Surprised he did so willingly. I guess we’ll get more details when you can.

It was cheaper to build a huge warehouse for our company than to continue to have copper and wire thefts. Dumbasses were trying to take 1000 mcm cable.

I work retail, theft comes off the store bottom line or P&L, which affects my bonus, so Ya I feel your pain.

One time we had an alarm failure. The guys were in there for hours. Took every bit of copper that didn’t need a forklift to carry. Right at 30 grand worth, our cost.
I get paid a percentage of overall net profit for my stores. Loss counts against that net.

Yep. I do like getting paid that way. It gives me a lot of control. It does suck when something like that happens though. Or when an employee breaks something. “Well, that just cost me 50 bucks.”

Agreed buy a good gun safe, and make sure you bolt it down. And if you can, put it somewhere that makes the sides and top hard or impossible to get to with cutting tools as they are the most vulnerable areas of a safe.

Like I said, I’d have done it too, most likely.

This guy might need to rethink his career choices. He’s pretty shitty at being a criminal. First of all, robbing a house right across the street, then walking around in full view with the stolen property.
On top of that, somebody walking around carrying a gun, much less an AR is going to attract a shitload of attention, and I live in f-ing Texas!

Totally sucks!!! Hopefully things will get back to normal soon and get the rest of your things back.

Our house got broken into few years back, luckily a neighbor witnessed him kicking in backdoor from upstairs window and called 911. Police caught one shitstain, tried to run but got tackled in front yard. He was staging everything he wanted by front door. Driver / vehicle had already left. Fortunately for us we recovered everything, just had to repair the back door. Definitely a "hair raising" experience.

Glad your safe, guy was caught and you got property back. It’s such a feeling of violation.

Court case going on right now near where I live, 28y old, was in Armed Forces killed a guy trying to steal his pickup in the middle of the night. They live on a remote road, he and his wife woke up to a noise and his training kicked in to defend. Not uncommon stolen vehicles end up on the native reserve where the perp/deceased is from.

    http://www.cbc.ca/amp/1.4712716

Similar case in Saskatchewan Canada, Gerald Stanley acquitted.

What happens in your U.S. cases?
