Know if the form lights can be permanent amber DRL?

The Diode Dynamics rep at the expo showed me the projector ones on his phone. I can’t hear very well and thought he was showing me the HR version of the lights. But anyways, said it was their sister company. I don’t think the projectors would last long on my truck, and have to remove the fenders to change them.

I didn’t even think to look at the Diode booth when I was there since I already have all the pods and bars I need.. for now. I also didn’t think about glass replacing that front piece that gets popped off during headlight install.

The headlights are sweet. They were plug and play for me since I had factory LEDs, but they have all the adapters in the box for the conversion from halogen. The fit was spot on and the quality seems really nice. My only ding on them would be the cutoff, with slightly more bleed/splash than OEM, but still not a problem. I’ll write up a more thorough review tomorrow, but I’ll drop this here for now…

The turn signal is so much better than the stock LED headlamp.
Not enough for me to swap though

Nice teaser! Very interested in how they compare looks wise to the OEM LEDs since that's what I was planning to go with.

So Where's this write up at? The people want to know!
Seems like they're pretty comparable in price to the oem so trying to figure out which way to go

Well, looks like I'll be joining the club soon. Just ordered a set from hotshot. Looking forward to swapping out from the Auxbeam LED bulbs ive been running, colors been nice but the beam pattern is terrible. I'll post some pics after they're installed.

Install completed. These look really nice, very near OEM. Color matches my DD SS3 fogs very well. I can finally drive with just the headlights on now, whereas before I needed the fogs on to get any real light output. Beam pattern is just ok, nowhere near what you'd get with a projector. I'm fine with that as long as I can adjust to not blind other drivers. The sequential turns are pretty neat. Leveling motors worked just like they should.

Packaging for these is really good, fully encased in styrofoam. Install was straight forward. Hardest part is unplugging all the connectors from the old lights. The hole in the new housings that retains the harness clip is a little oversized; the clip wont stay in. I just put a ziptie through it to keep the harness held in place.

Pleased with this purchase so far. We'll see how they perform and hold up over time.

I just spent close to a g on wheels and skid plate. I need to lay off for a minute.

Just installed these and feel pretty "meh" about them to be honest.

Also, when you turn on your high beams are your low beams supposed to switch off?

Really liking the projector version of these headlights. Just installed them today. Literal night and day difference from stock. And they look great!

    Thanks. Mine definitely switch off.
Honestly it's kind of unbelievable there's no documents on these headlights. Spend 6-700 on lights and they just show up with a bundle of wires and you gotta figure it out. Called form today and asked and they said to watch the YouTube video. The yt video doesn't even show the same wiring harness these come with... The guy was unhelpful and obviously annoyed I was asking questions to top it off

I agree the instructions could be better. Mine came with two different sets of harnesses. Pretty sure I chose the right one as every connector i unplugged had a mating connector on their harness. The white module harness was tucked in a Styrofoam pocket in mine, not with the other cables in the bag, so I missed it at first. Had everything buttoned up about to close the hood and found them when I was cleaning up. Luckily, I was able to install without tearing everything apart again. Hopefully your issue is just something simple.

Did you buy them from us here at Hotshot? If so, we're happy to help you troubleshoot! I asked everyone on our team here if they spoke with anyone about the Form headlights and got head shakes so I'm guessing that you called up DD/Form which is generally a good place to start. If you can snag some photos of your wiring situation in the back as well as a video or two of the headlights cycling from low/high beam I'd be happy to help get you dialed in.

Hey thanks for the response! I did indeed buy them from you but I contacted form for some help with the wiring harness. Sounds like I should have called you guys if I wanted some actual help!

Well I figured it out. The kit also comes with two little square boxes. When I called form the rep said I absolutely did not need those and to not install them. Plugged one in and presto, lights work.
Light output is now much better but man, talk about some terrible customer service from form. Also, I said it in my previous post, how do I spend this much money on lights and not get some written instructions? The YouTube video says nothing about these boxes so how am I supposed to know?

Moral of the story, lights are awesome, form sucks, next time call hotshot for some help

Yeah no worries. There's plenty of times that we'll need to pass off customer service concerns to the OEMs, but we're happy to help when we can!
