Only seems to smell when the a/c or derfroster is on.
The smell is chemical but slightly fragrant. (Not syrupy)
Doesn’t seem to smell when a/c is not used.
Thanks for the ideas, keep them coming.

Ha! Perfect timing, Im still smelling mine but only when it’s super cool out. Just happens this weekend is getting into the 20’s and im curious if my smell will come back. I hope not but…

I tore my blower motor out and it was fine. Cleaned the evaporator coils with that spray underneath the dash/center console and it helped like your ozone. But every time the temps drop, bam chemical smells from hell and rolling down the windows. No one can duplicate it since its only that cold around Oregon a couple weeks a year.

Ill let everyone know if tomorrow im back to huffing crap.

I still think it might be the funky de icer Oregon sprays on the roads and gets hot under my truck…

Yes, when it’s cold and damp!
Every line and the AC and the evaporator coil as well as checking if washer fluid was leaking into the cowl and nothing, nobody can figure out what the smell is or where it’s coming from.
But it does make us feel poorly if exposed too long.
    Hopefully someone has some ideas?

Ok so check this out. To keep the variables the same as every day to day operations I havent touched my heater knobs or vents. After 3-4 days of temps below 20*F and driving in 4H for an hour plus each day, zero smells.

Now today was a high temp day at 30F. Still havent touch the vents or heater knobs. Turned the truck on and once I was a mile or two down the road the smell came back and the kiddo noticed it before I.

The only thing that happened was the outside air was back to 30F. Below 30 no smells, 30 you get smells, 40 and above nothing WTF!!

so now that the smell is back I played with the vents and no change between vents, ac, fresh or recirculation. I wonder if my drain on the evap cooler gets frozen under the truck and backs up, but still no clue on the smell.

any more ideas and no its not a died mouse, shouldnt be mold I just cleaned it months ago, filters 2 months old and clean to the eye (vents were screened to prevent mice pee). Also I cleaned the radiator inside the center console last summer.

    Wondering if any update ?
Any idea what’s causing smell, I have been having same problem since last summer.
Also seems to be temperature dependent.

Zero good updates sadly. It 100% only when the temperature is below freezing. Luckily our temps are not that cold in Portland.
