Forgive me if this has been posted already, I did search the site and couldn't find anything related to homelink other than programming issues, which mine isn't.

Is Anyone every have issues with their home link garage door openers suddenly not working unless you are basically right under the door opener?
I have a chamberlain garage door opener, for the last 6 months, no issues with the homelink buttons on my rear-view when opening and closing the door. The past week or so, it frequently will not open, unless I use one of the Chamberlain remotes, or the universal remote in our Wrangler. When I back into the garage, and the door opener is right above me, it works great, but if I'm outside trying to open the door from the Tundra, forget it.....

I have cleared the codes and completely reprogrammed the Homelink, having the same issues with it with my Craftsman opener for my other garage door as well, which leads me to believe it's a homelink issue and not an opener issue.

    Any advice would help.

It sounds like the Homelink to me since it has the same issues with two different openers. Are the garage door openers fairly new? I had compatibility issues with newer Homelink units and older garage door openers. I had two 16 year old Sears Craftsman openers that would not work with my 2014 Silverado unless I was directly in front of the door. Well, one opener failed and after it was replaced with a new Liftmaster, I could hit the button from a block away and it opened without an issue. Replaced the other opener and all is fine.

in 2014 I believe the software changed with Homelink. The older openers needed a part in the garage for them to work with newer vehicles. I had the reverse issue with an 2012 tacoma and a new Chamberlin opener, and had to upgrade my mirror to work the new door.

I have to firmly press my buttons directing pressure to the top part of the button.

It worked fine with both openers until about 2 weeks ago, now it. Only works from inside the garage

That's why I think it is the Homelink module itself

No issues here, I simply tap the button and it has a pretty decent range, well before I get to the driveway. My wife’s Lexus, on the other hand, is ridiculous. You have to push it just right and hold it for at least a second or two

About 4 weeks ago my homelink started acting up with the Chamberlain garage door. However the remotes that came with it work perfectly.

I reprogrammed everything and no difference. I keep the Chamberlain remote in the console now. No clue what happened.

It does sound like a homelink issue, warranty, hopefully? Did you try the dealer?

So I gave one more go of reprogramming it. This time I did the normal point the remote at the homelink, but then also did the smart learn button on each opener (followed instructions in the manual for rolling codes), haven't had an issue since. Guess ya gotta RTFM (read the f*..... Manual)
