I don't care if your tailgate unfolds into a step [stupid GMC commercials], and I don't care what gas mileage I make. At current gas prices, driving 20,000 miles per year, the difference between 17 and 25 mpg is $696.00 per year or $58 bucks a month. So ... I don't care:mudding:

I have. There truck is generally within a half point difference. I'd say that speaks greatly to Toyota's system.

The MPG that some of you are getting is incredible. My 2019 1794 CM is getting a cumulative 12 MPG. My best tankful MPG was 12.6. Worst was 11.6. And I've really been light-footing the gas pedal to get that. What am I doing wrong?

You're probably just driving in town more. I will admit that I have a braking problem [as in, I don't like to brake and try to avoid it whenever possible]. I pretty much putt around for the most part because I'm never in a hurry to get to work and like to chill on the way home.

Back to the tire pressure subject. Have you checked? Experimented?

Man call me crazy, but my mileage is a lot better than expected. I have a 19 Platinum and I have not got under 16.1 for the tank. A lot of backroads, Rural 4-lane highways, but a good bit of mixed Knoxville traffic.

As example I drive 40 miles to Erik each day. First 10 miles are back roads at 45-55 and about 4 stop signs. Next 15 miles are 4-lane country highway at 55-65. The last little bit to work I go through 2 towns with about 6 lights in each town. I get 17.5 on the way to work (uphill) and about the same or up to 19 on the way home. I drive normal, nothing crazy. One day I got 19.2 on the way home with picture attached.

My boss bought a brand new King Ranch with 3.5 ecoboost and he is driving 60 miles to work each day on the highway I-40. We are getting the exact same mileage. He is very easy and his ecoboost is not getting anywhere rated what it is supposed to and he has had it in the shop 5 times in the first 2.5 months for bad vibrations and engine codes....

Another guy bought a brand new Lariat with the 5.0 and he is beating me by about 1.5 MPG.

Sure glad I went with the Toyota!!!!

    Never saw it again

That's amazing...my truck has always been 4-6mpg higher than what I calculate by hand. Mine shows 19.1 all the time and sometimes as high as 21, but I'm not getting that much.

About 12.5 for me over my term of ownership so far. I could get 17+ on the highway stretch from to from Austin, but mixed with daily driving meh.

Same with my coworkers F150 eco boost. He is happy to get 15 mpg. I’ve been getting 17, 17.5 cruising at posted speeds.

Doesn’t this make sense? If your Tundra has the 38-gallon tank, you should have almost 600 miles of distance available. Thanks for commenting, we need the feminine touch

Seriously, you get only 11-12 mpg? That’s incredibly low. Are you running ATV knobbies?

It's the smallest Smitty Built sleeps 2 with lots of room. Was in a real bad storm in the Badlands in it, held up great...cant say the same for the ground tent

Thank you. Have you looked at the other name brand RTTs? The Australians make really nice ones. How did you arrive at the Smitty Built? And what about the platform on your bed? Btw your tires don’t look too overly gas-eating aggressive to me. But what do I know

Yeah, I looked around a small bit, this one is probably the cheapest dollar wise and it was available near me so I didnt have to pay shipping. The rack, my brother and I made, along with a shower

That’s really neat. All the rack jobs I’ve considered are like “just cut a bit here, weld here and here, bend metal to fit there and there and voila, you have a really simple, cheap homemade rack.” Yeah. You know that rack and rtt might create just enough wind resistance to cost you measurable mpg. Have you considered this?

The air drag on top has to hurt. Towing always does. But if mileage is the only value, then there’s no fun, is there
