    Hi folks,

Has anyone had an opportunity to try one of these hitch sliders out on a Tundra? Looks it was originally designed for a Jeep Gladiator but could be an option for our “trail whale tails”.

It of course is only for the dead center of the departure but would protect that hitch.

    Anyone try it yet?

Never heard of it but looks like a good idea. I’d add it to my list of not needed but good to have. Just not for $189.

What is the importance of protecting your hitch that would necessitate a skid? Aren’t these things beefy already?

Nice find @mountainpete ! Another thing to put on my list to make with the milling machine. Wonder if it’d help you out of situations like mustie found himself in. FF to 35:00

The bottom of the hitch can handle the weight but it’s not designed to be scraped over and over again. If you are in an area with lots of rocks and are on the trail a lot this both protects and gives you a safe recovery point.

And yes, it is pricy. But there also looks like good machining.
