At this point there is zero evidence a pothole was involved. All I saw was a divot.

OK. Make your assumptions and personal attacks, you certainly can’t argue facts.

Both MCRD and college. It’s been more than a few minutes since both of those happened too.

I even finished the “Spelling For Marines” MCI, glad they didn’t mind it being done with crayons. Now look at my fancy pants spelling and punctuation and shit!

there is absolutely NO CHANCE you were in the military unless you tried and received an article 15 and they booted you. My young “friend” do you even read ALL the post were people talk negatively about you? Seriously what will make you understand this and this is part of my profile page…..”if you run across an ass#%^* in the morning, you ran across an ass#%**. But if you run into an ass+*^% all day, then YOU are the ass^%#*”!! All that alleged education but zero real world common sense. The more I hear/read about you or from your own posts, the more I feel sorry/sad for you. No matter what, I never give up on anyone and still think/hope you can change and become a better person. :fingerscrossed:

Bro, you did it AGAIN!! I specifically quoted Coal Dragger and my response was for him alone. I guess you do think you are that important and everyone is talking about you every post even when using quotes from someone else. I haven’t addressed anything directly to you in a while. You DO miss me I think! :notsure:
(Btw, yes I am a Cajun and yes I eat plenty swamp lizards. Don’t make fun of them until you have tried them!!)

Not only was I a Marine, I was in the infantry and did really “fun” deployment to Iraq in good old Al Anbar Province in 2004. My battalion operated out of Al Taqaddum which was an Iraqi Air Force base in between Ramadi and Falluja, at least in theory. The rifle companies were spread out and only Weapons Company, and H&S were billeted at TQ. I was in Weapons Company (0351) so my AO was the greater TQ and Habbaniyah area with occasional patrols or escort missions to other areas.

I don’t particularly care what you believe to be true or not, I have a DD214 and an honorable discharge in my file cabinet. I suppose I should frame the discharge paper and put all my ribbons and medals in an “I love me display box” but I’m not very sentimental. Reminds me I should get a DD215 to reflect a Navy Unit Citation… there might be a PUC to come to think of it. My enlistment ended before those unit awards were authorized.

You can PM if you like as I was over there and in that area at the same time!! Paths could have crossed. I was in a specialized unit that worked with everyone/everywhere. Now that I am putting two and two together I have to ask you something Personal. Have you ever been diagnosed with PTSD? This is a very personal thing and like I said you can PM me because no matter what you think I really am here to help. I only ask because I have PTSD and get meds monthly and see a mental health specialist regularly. Before all of this treatment, I honestly was not as friendly/kind to everyone like I am now. So I am hoping I can get you help if you’re being legit!! Most soldiers like I did, was not aware you even have it. I RARELY talk about this online as I am a very private person (no Facebook, etc, this is my ONLY online vice/posting I do). So I forget/forgive all past posts between us if you are being legit and I am offering you an olive branch and any help I can give. The first step is admitting you need it, the next step is seeking that help!! I won’t post anything else on this thread to show I am serious.

    Hmmm….. I have many thoughts.

    Train horns I have used:

1.) GE ES44AC/ES44DC/ES44C-4: loud enough to get the attention of the public but not so loud it’s annoying to use in the cab with the windows closed. Not deafening with windows open but not something I recommend on a regular basis. In very cold weather they’re prone to freezing up at the air valve if the train has been in humid areas prior to hitting my AO when it might be -20. Usually none of the other air powered equipment works either at this point and it’s too late to use the manual blow downs on the main reservoirs to get rid of the water that is freezing in the lines.

2.) GE AC4400 and GE Dash-9: generally the same as above, but prone to being weak in the volume department. These locomotives are all getting old and aren’t frequently head end power anymore, which hurts my feelings not one bit. Many of these go to scrap if a major failure occurs.

3.) EMD SD70MAC: Generally good horn performance, and in my experience more reliable than the GE. I am sure this comes down to the control valve being located somewhere more resistant to freezing. Not a lot of these old girls getting used as road power in lead service, and my road doesn’t even bother doing maintenance on them. When they have a major failure they get sold or scrapped.

EMD SD70ACE: I hate the air horns on these, and the locomotives they’re attached to. Moronically loud even with all the cab windows shut, deafening with them open. The locomotives themselves are also hot garbage, super loud and droning inside even with an isolated cab mount. To their credit, like the older EMD SD70MAC they don’t freeze up in the cold very often.

Anything older than that like SD40’s or SD9’s are seen so infrequently I don’t have a lot of time in them. The control valves are manual though and not electronic solenoid activated, so you can damn near play music on them.

I have never been diagnosed one way or the other on PTS. I can’t say I don’t have it, but my personality was tending towards impatient before Iraq. I’m sure it didn’t help in that department though.

Fortunately I don’t suffer from suicidal thoughts, or anything like that. No desire to hurt myself or anyone else. Just less patient, but I have a 5 year old son who is teaching me patience every day LOL. I am hesitant to seek medication or diagnosis under current circumstances.

Did you mean train horns on a pickup truck?

I have far more succinct opinion of that. Let’s just say it’s not a positive one.

Good old TQ. Used to be a British RAF base back in the 1920’s and early 1930’s. I don’t miss that place at all.

Your photo looks like a perfect time of dawn/dusk for camel spiders to be running around all over the runway concrete. I remember in October when we were rotating out hanging around in a hangar near the runway and as soon as the light faded there were thousands of those creepy bastards running around on the warm concrete.

Is it wrong to say I find it highly entertaining seeing vehicles fly through water filled mistakenly deep potholes in the city of Boston?

That and watching people attempt to parallel park only to end up 1/2 way on the sidewalk unable to get out.
