Your logic is not taking into account that my observation applies to tires and wheels vs what surfaces the vehicle is actually getting driven on.

A sports car on summer tires is optimized for tarmac, where it will spend near enough 100% of its time. We can make an argument about the wisdom of running a set of sticky summer tires all year, but the shoes fit the mission that most owners will actually use the car for. Taken to an extreme, putting race slicks on a street driven car would be stupid and irresponsible if there’s any chance of even mild inclement weather and the usefulness of the car is then limited by poor tire choice.

By the same token putting knobby MT’s on a car that is driven on pavement near enough 100% of the time would also be stupid.

The vast majority of truck owners, myself included, put the vast majority of miles on (well over 90%) on paved roads. I occasionally go off road, and limit that to activities that aren’t likely to strand my ass or break things on my daily driver. I drive in deep snow way more often than I do in mud, or rock crawl. I see a fair amount of gravel roads, but they’re still roads that any passenger car can also use. This use case for surfaces being traversed covers the vast majority of truck owners in North America. You don’t need 35”+ MT’s to accomplish any of those things, and they make the vehicle demonstrably worse at what it’s actually being used for.

It is indeed a free country, and consumers are absolutely free to make stupid decisions with their money and look like fools doing it. The rest of us are also free to make fun of fools, posers, and other associated morons for their poor choices. The general state of pickup truck owners in the US is now easily the biggest group of consumers making stupid ass purchase decisions, and modifications to their vehicles. The truck gang has surpassed the JDM crowd in stupidity and posing. I’m going to continue calling it out and ridiculing it.

You can’t buy donuts and not get at least a few Boston Creams if available.

If you do you’re a puppy kicking commie heathen.

The pothole was on a retired, paved over RR. Not near as deep as I thought when I went back after daylight to see. It's about 8 ins. deep. I retired after 37 yrs. on the railroad. I've seen them in action on such.

Agreed. Just more proof that 22” wheels with low profile tires on a truck or other heavy vehicle = failure.

Maybe not having the setup you really want, be it for form or function, is what is really foolish in the end. No ragerts.

you seem to find a need to argue about anything....or blab your opinion. Some people like low profile, some like the ballon look, some like stock....its all OK....nothing wrong with any of them. You need to clam down

I'd put the OEM 22s back on it because resale. Folks that are looking for those capstones are probably also wanting the 22-in crack dealer wheels

Sorry man, but I have to part ways with you here. Some things are in fact wrong, despite people liking them.

As an example, some people don’t like fresh donuts, they’d rather eat powdered donuts out of a vending machine. What you generously describe as a difference in taste, I identify as a clear sign of something wrong. Only a depraved and sick individual would eat powdered donuts out of a vending machine when fresh donuts are available. This is the same kind of sicko you later find out turns to cannibalism. It all started with a cry for help when they turned down fresh donuts, and chose powdered donuts out of a vending machine instead.

Long story short not liking fresh donuts, and liking low profile tires on a truck eventually results in cannibalism. Or zombies. Or something like that.

Big oversized tires on a truck just results in poor on pavement performance, and bad fuel mileage. At least it doesn’t result in cannibalism, so there’s that.

People who eat donuts, fresh or packaged, are putting objectively bad fuel into their bodies that results in poor performance and bad mileage and are therefore highly stupid and deserve to be mocked for their decisions.

    (Am I doing this right?)

I mean I’m arguing that pre-packaged Hostess powdered donuts lead to cannibalism. I’m having a tough time taking this or anything else seriously.

What ever Nancy Negative. I applaud peoples choices on how they want their personal trucks to look. I applaud people who make their own choices. And I applaud people who are sick of people like you that have one agenda and cant see the world is a great place with individualism.

Doesnt change anything in your life what they do and if someone wants to eat a donut out of a vending machine ....so be it. Doesnt make it wrong.....its called personal choice.

Dont fall off the edge of your earth

I actually agree with you sometimes, especially with mall crawlers on 37's. But I think you fail to miss the fact that some people don't think like you, or even me sometimes. Just because we don't like it, or don't do it, does not make it wrong in the truck world. Live and let live dude, who really cares how others enjoy their own trucks.
