    2019 Tundra TRD off-road
    Hello to all members.
I’ll be picking up new to me 2019 tundra sr5plus Trd off road soon. I’m life long Toyota and Honda enthusiast but for some reason unknown to me I had a brain fart in 2017 and traded my beautiful ‘12 IsF for an 3.5 ecoboost f150!. I really liked the power feel of it but after almost 8 years and 180k km I had to make a jump to something more reliable. My tundra has around 136k km with consistent oil change intervals etc. my plan of attack is to change every single fluid on it asap, polish and protect the paint and ofcourse clean and protect the underside from rust. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated.
BTW, it’s my favorite color which is cement :) so can’t wait to start working on it.

    Welcome to the forum!

For the paint cleaning/polish bit I highly recommend to read and interact over here https://www.tundras.com/threads/ask-the-detailer.18408/ because there are some folks who really know the detailing stuff. It's a great resource.

To protect the frame and such from rust you should look into something like fluid film, wool wax, or krown, but avoid the rubberized coatings like zeibart.

Make sure you are up to speed on the generally low payload rating on Tundras. Always best to know about that before you try to tow or haul something that is too much for a light duty half ton. Speaking of towing, if you plan to tow frequently you might want to look into adding an external transmission cooler. Toyota removed the external cooler on the 2019-2021 Tundras and it's a common add for those who plan to tow more than occasionally.

If you share a little more about what your planned uses and wants/desires for the truck are going to be then you can get better recommendations from the community here. Don't forget to post pics of the truck when you can! :worthless:

Have a cabin 6 hrs away so mostly highway driving. Some light off roading to get to my cabin, maybe 500m. I had KO2’s on my f150 and they were not bad, although little heavy and loud. For towing, nothing crazy, just 14 ft boat, jet ski or a 12ft utility trailer packed with wood for an hour or two. I don’t think I’ll need a transmission oil cooler for these. As for detailing, I was a actually a detailer for couple of years so that’s not a black magic but I want to put some ceramic coating on it vs heavy duty wax like collonite 476 that I like.
My main focus first will be coolant, tranny, front and rear differential and transfer case, power steering and brake fluid. I’ll need to find some time to get more info on gear oils and quantities. Can’t wait to pick it up on Wednesday.
    Thanks for recommendations.
