    Hey All.

Long Story short, we are moving ourselves from KS to FL. Bought a 16' enclosed trailer and we already had a 2005 F-150 with 4.2 V6. Just made a run to Maine to drop off some furniture and other items and realized that the F-150 was NOT going to cut it. On our way back, we picked up a 2008 Reg Cab 5.7 SR5 package short-bed BEAST! I'm positive I'll have no issues.

Sadly, this truck came WITHOUT the tow package (The Sport Package deletes the hitch and trans cooler among other things). So..... ordered the hitch, trailer brake control adapter and am now researching the trans cooler.

1st question - Do I need one? I will only be pulling about 5000 lbs. I do plan to make 2-3 trips with the truck. Not climbing any mountain passes save for some big hills in TN.

2nd question - If I do need a trans cooler - how easy is the install? Looking for info but I have not had any luck yet finding the details I need to do the job.

Any info and assistance will be much appreciated.

(Sad part of the story - Once we are done moving our stuff, I plan to sell the trailer and the truck. The truck only has 114k on it! That will be a very sad day! Hopefully the total cost of the move will be just the gas $$$ (along with the insurance, registration, etc. etc. etc. ).

Thought about renting a truck. Again - 2 to 3 trips back and forth. Find me a truck rental for a couple of hundred (that I can use again and again, at my leisure) and I'm all over it. I got a GREAT deal on this truck and am 98% positive I'll be able to sell it for MORE than what I paid, hence a better deal. Thanks for the reply. I have seen lots of info on trans temps and the link you provided is great.
