    Hi all,

I've replaced the plain plastic mirrors on my 2024 SR5 Sport with the manual folding, color keyed, mirrors.

As expected, the blinkers are not working. I'm in the process of narrowing down the blinker wires to each tail light. I had a few minutes today to pull the tail lights and I have a good lead on which wires they are. The plan is to tap into them inside the cab and add pinned wires to the factory harness on each side.

I was hoping that some of you guys that have done the tow mirror swaps may have a pic of your upper harness that would help me identify the wires that my harnesses are missing. Plan B will be to risk breaking a clip and visually verify wire colors at the blinker and to the female harness.

I've looked at The Ultimate Wiring Diagram and can't make heads or tails of it. I think page 71 is where my answer is, but I don't have the training to verify that. Additionally, I have been unable to locate a pinout. So, I was hoping one of you fellas could throw me a bone with a photo from your project.

    Thanks in advance.

    Here's my harness

    Alot of them
You should have turn signal wiring at that harness. You will need to figure out which pin locations they are. It's not difficult....I did it on my 2020 using an led strip from AutoZone. I'll see if I have the pictures still.

Turns out it's not as plug and play as it used to be. On my '11 and '18, I was able to do as you did. Just add the factory parts that I wanted. They were already wired up.

From what I've been able to gather and have seen in some videos about changing over to tow mirrors, Toyota has gone to a CAN-Bus system and now does multiple harnesses on the 3rd Gen Tundras. Some models actually have 2 harnesses for each mirror. Mine only has one.

There have been a few folks try this so far and they haven't posted whether or not they were successful. So I'm attempting to work it out and do a write up for people wanting to do this in the future.

My harness for my original mirror has 5 pinned wires. 4 are the same gauge. One is thicker and ohms out. Yet so does the black one of the other 4. The other 3 move the mirror up, down, and right. I was expecting the black one to move the mirror left, considering black or black stripe rarely mean ground in the OEM world of wiring...

So as I said, my male harness has 5 pins. The female harness of my replacement OEM, color keyed, mirror with blinker has 7 pins.

I expect one of those to be the positive pin for the BSM and the other the positive pin for the blinker. However, I expected the black wire to be the one that moved the mirror left. Not ohm out, just like the pink wire...

So, back to it another day.
