Bought this from my local Toyota dealer. CD13D431-F3F2-42D1-9E59-6C0109B03FCC.jpg

They use this oil for transfers case. Had them triple check to make sure it’s the correct one I need. I know I need to use GL-5 for the front and rear diff but the owners manual doesn’t specify if it needs to be GL-5. Any help will be appreciated. Want to knock out it out tomorrow.

the BG should work just fine. The transfer case calls for ATF, so as long as you run a compatible fluid that meets the specification called for, no big deal. For example, I have been running Red Line D6 ATF in both my transmission at the transfer case with excellent results. https://www.redlineoil.com/d6-atf#oem-compatibility-tab

EDIT: Only the 22+ 3rd gen transfer cases call for Toyota WS ATF standard (2.17 qt.) The 07-21 DOES NOT call for ATF. Thank you for catching that @blenton

07-21 do not call for ATF in the transfer case. 07-13 specs 75w90 while 14-21 specs straight 75w, but many use 75w90 for which I don’t recall seeing any failures for using in place of straight 75w. However, ATF is not an acceptable substitute.

@tundra361 I have not seen that particular BG product before but it looks to be an acceptable fluid. I don’t recall offhand if GL4 is going to be of any consequential difference as most 75w90s are GL5 (more extreme pressure additives). It’s not difficult to drain and refill if you decide it doesn’t work well for you.

Some info on 75w vs 75w90 (which is the wrong oil most dealers use for 2014-2021 Tundra transfer cases)

Some here like the Redline 70w/75 as well.
