Hi. I am hoping someone out there may have an idea what this outlet is on my vehicle. I have a 2022 CrewMax 1794 I bought used from the dealer. On the front bumper I have a 3 pin (round) male outlet. I traced the wire as best I can. I can tell it is grounded to the body and may have an inline fuse on it but it doesn't appear to hook into either fuse box. It disappears into the engine area and I haven't been able to find a diagram yet as to what that part of the engine is all about. I attached my multimeter while the engine was running and off and didn't register anything. Anybody have any guesses? Pictures attached. Thanks.

Possibly for an electric winch on a trailer?

    Engine block heater.
That's the 120v inlet and apparently there has to be an adapter to use an 120v extention cord.

Hmmm. I would have never though engine block heater. All the engine block heaters I have seen in the past had a normal extension cord plug in. I will investigate it more.

A winch control had crossed my mind, but I assumed it would be for a front winch which there is no indication there ever was or that has wiring to support that.

I missed the "front" in your original post. Probably not a trailer winch in that case. Most likely block heater.

    Lots of stuff!
If it was a winch control, you should see some evidence of a solid bumper to support a winch.

Given that it is the female part of the outlet, it wouldn't be hot! My guess is a block heater as well. Too bad they didn't give you the cord to go with it. Any electrical store will be able to set you up with a cord to work with it. Or maybe even Toyota?

I guess you are in a colder climate? That would make sense for the previous owner to have a block heater installed.

I am in southern Ontario. Used vehicle so I am guessing the original owner didn't include the cord when he traded in. I will contact the dealer about getting the adapter cord. Thanks everyone for the insights!

Can confirm this is the block heater.

if you need the cord order from action truck. Defa is the company that makes them.

Thanks. Good to have a source for the cord other than the dealer where the price will be 3x as high.
