I am getting rid of my 99 Dodge Ram Cummins and looking for a 2016 tundra double cab! I want a white pro but I'm leaning towards a trd off road so I have some room in the budget to make it how I want it. I have a long list...

What should I be looking for in a new Tundra?
Trying to see if I can get a good deal on a 2016 before the end of the year.

I'd say suspension lift upgrade (3/1), tires, under seat storage, tonneau cover, and rear airbags (if you tow)

Im originally from Coeur d Alene. I don't know if you have a dealer yet, but Parker Toyota in Coeur d Alene is really great. Gave me a fair deal with mine and didn't hassle me around at all.

Any particular brand of lift kit I should look into? I don't tow but I do haul a lot and do a fair amount of off road driving. Primitive roads and trails, no rock crawling.

I have been looking there. My family has always bought cars from them, but their prices on tundras are pretty high. Just bought a 4Runner for my wife and ended up going with downtown Toyota in Spoakne. Still undecided where I am going to go.

If you go with the pro, you'd be just fine with the suspension but if you want more lift, I'd call Toytec and they'd hook you up with some info and nice parts. Probably either the BOSS kit or OME (Old Man Emu).
If you do level it out, either get an AAL or airbags to prevent ass squat when hauling.
Also mat liners are a must if you're not afraid to get dirty lol I went with Kagu 3D MAXpider mats. They don't slide around like weathertech does. Saved my carpet from some serious mud and gunk.

Good to know thanks for the information! Floor liners are a must I shoot and hunt a lot so dirty boots are the norm for me. I will probably go with a trd off road sr5 and mod it to save some coin over the pro. Iv still never even seen a white DC pro in my area.

Same here! Those mats hold up well against deer blood and fish guts! LOL

Honestly, that's the way I'd go. I really like the pros myself but you can mod it to the same capabilities or better for less coin, not to mention you can wrap the bumper ends in white vinyl and get the TRD pro grille seperately and swap them out. No one would be the wiser!

Second on that parker Toyota. Good service that's where I got mine. They have a pretty big parts department and I believe the guy that runs its name is chase he knows about all the parts. I would definitely take the time to look at peoples build pages to see what you like and don't like.

So here's the question. Should I get the off road or just a plain sr5 with the 5.7L? Doesn't seem to be much more to get the trd Off road.

And if I went that route would I need anything more than a set of bilstien 5100s up front to level it? Since the off road already comes with bilstien coil overs.

If you're set on Bilsteins, I'd say go for the off road. you could adjust them to your liking.
They definitely have plenty of good reviews!

I will end up with bilsteins regardless of what I end up with, but it was my understanding that the Stock 4600s on the TRD aren't height adjustable. I don't want to invest in a whole lift kit right away I just want the truck level.

doy, I forgot the bilsteins that came on the TRD aren't adjustable LOL
Since your goal is to level the truck, I'd see what the price difference is between a TRD off road and SR5. If I'm not mistaken the mod difference is wheels, tires, shocks and skid plates. (Don't forget to check if either has the tow package)
If it's really not that much, I'd still go with the TRD and when you get enough cash, you can upgrade the shocks and maybe sell the old ones off. (Stock sr5 shocks wouldn't sell as well)

I bought the OR because of the deal I was getting on the truck, but I'm not keeping any part of it between new wheels/tires/lift etc. So if you don't have to get the Off Road, I'd just get an SR5.

I think there are 3 Off road packages you can choose from. Mainly the SR5 upgrade package which has power drivers seat, telescoping wheel, larger tank(?), center console, auto dim mirrors, and the garage door opener on the mirror. And then there's the Safety and Convenience package which has the blind spot monitor, rear cross traffic alert, parking sensors, and I think it comes with a color matched rear bumper. If you want any of these, make sure you get the right package.
