Hello. Thrilled to be here. Have owned several Toyotas, my first was a 1982 pickup bought in 87, traded for new in 89. Corporate relocation in 07 from Canada to Arizona, first vehicle 04 Highlander, latter added very used but solid 2000 Tundra std cab (boring but practical). In 09 traded to 04 4runner - best vehicle we've owned.

    Now I'm back with a 2021 Tundra 1794 Edition.

Replacing 2004 F250 powerstroke dead at 109k, coolant out exhaust. Truck is secondary vehicle for us, sometimes towing a 16 foot deck with building supplies, hay or junk. Occasional towing horses or ponies - will be downgrading from 4 horse gooseneck that hasn't been near capacity for years, only have ponies now, so will get a small light 2 horse bumper pull. No longer towing far, only local, so fine with less tow capacity.

Wife wanted the 1794 for nice leather. I was neutral but do agree is nice.

Test drove a 23, liked it (except not so keen on front grill) but after lots of research and youtube decided don't want to be tester (guinea pig) for new tech. Main reason I wanted to like the 23 was turbo - power when you need it, mpg economy when don't. But I couldn't get past few horror stories with waste gates. With my experience on Toyotas I'm confident Toyota will resolve, but I've never been an early adopter.

Decided stick with proven v8. Shopped around, found what think is great deal, especially in current market. Friday drove a rental car 340 miles to north Kansas. Saturday drove home with a 21 certified pre owned 1794 edition with only 20k miles. Very happy, drove well even through brutal rain storm.

Have ordered a pop down step for rear and bed tiedown rail kit with cleats (looks like had one, guess previous owner kept it). Researching driver side grab handle for my 5'2" wife ;)

ETA: Will probably add air bags. Need to research. Would like Bluetooth control. I have a great compressor that looks exactly like what comes with kits. I'd like to hook up so it can also serve to topup truck or trailer tires, I suppose with an outlet at rear and a switch to provide direct power bypassing the controller.

Anyhow, thanks for reading - here is mandatory new guy pic (was immaculately clean when left dealer in Kansas, dirty after nasty drive):

Welcome from Houston, TX, where hell is cooler and air is purer....lol
I like the 1794, but figured that it is actually hurting less (to me) to mod from an SR5....
But I agree, the leather is nice....

Welcome neighbor, from OKC! The grab handle was removed due to crash test results. Not a huge deal, but it left a mark on the test dummy. Maybe see you around sometime!

Thanks for welcomes. Here's a pic of truck's first work. Short box is a compromise for us compared to last long box but have a 16 foot flat trailer for bigger loads.
