    Hi everyone,
I'm trying to be a new co-owner of a 2006 Tundra Limited or XSP quad cab. co-owner because I'm primarily buying it for my soon to be 16 year old son. From all my research this seems like the best option for what we will use it for. Still looking for the right truck, had a deal in Jacksonville yesterday that I thought was a done deal, to the point the guy set up an appointment to drop off the truck for me , at a time that worked for him with Arlington Toyota to do a pre purchase inspection ( my dime) , price , shipping was all agreed to and the guy just doesn't show up, not returning calls, text, emails nothing...and he's a dealer, small but still in the biz....so the search continues. I have never been known to leave anything alone so when I get one I will be sure to seek advice on mods ....here's my latest project, still a work in progress, I am really looking forward to doing the truck with my son.

I thought it would be kinda funny to park this gross polluter and gas guzzling pig in EV parking spots...all of them...lol

    Welcome!

    CST-V?

Good luck on the search! I believe (I may be wrong) the 06 had some issues with the water pump- so check on that.

yep its a V. I have researched it fairly well. The timing belts pretty critical to have done as scheduled about 90K or so . Ive heard most replace water pump when they do belt. All the trucks I've been seeing have either 7-100k miles and not had that service done or 125k and up that have

    This.
Be patient (as I'm sure you are) and get the right one.

Welcome to the forum. Good luck with the purchasing. I love my Tundra, but I hated the buying process.

Found the truck in South Carolina, drove up and got it yesterday. It's a black 06 limited dbl cab, 94k miles. Had 2 local owners and has always been serviced at the same dealership. 27 service entries in the record (took it to the same dealership for inspection) all for regular maintenance including timing belt @ 87k. Curiously the owner declined the water pump during this service. Leather has one small tear on the side right above the power seat controls.,other than that it's pristine. Tech at Toyota said it was dry as a bone underneath. Already has tinted Windows, the window air deflectors and really nice folding bed cover. Every option I believe. Son is beside himself... Has 2 more months till he gets his license. Went driving this morning for the first time in it, he had a smile and a light in his eye that was so cool to see..... I remember that same feeling good God over 35 years ago..... Wow.... Time for mods now where to start???

Welcome and congrats on the find.
