Not a Tundra but still a Yoda. 2 days of working on it and finally finished. Wash, dry, Meguiars clay bar, wash, dry, Meguiars Ultimate Synthetic Polymer liquid wax for the sealant, top coat is P21S Carnauba wax.

Next up is the Tundra. Thinking about doing aa cerami coat. Any suggestions on how to go about coating it, brand, longevity, etc.?

Nice - Bet it’s look great in the sun!

I’m not there yet, but if you are considering ceramic coating look for it in the detailing section. If you can’t find anything on it I’d start a new thread under detailing.

Sorry I’m not more help I’m sure the others will chime in in a bit. They are far more experienced than I :)

Thanks TJ. Kinda cloudy this afternoon but hopefully it does look good in the sun.

Thanks Steve. I've heard you have to have allot of patience when coating if you want it right. I definitely will be looking up info and do my research.

First time using P21. Goes on and comes off easy. No residue on trim which was really nice.

From what I’ve seen, CQuartz is the way to go. I’ve had it in the cabinet for a while now, waiting on my schedule and the weather to line up so I can put it on.

I’m actually pissed now. I had a couple of great pics of the beading on mine and my daughter’s from a while back. I can’t find them now.

I put a coat of Reload on it last weekend. Of course, there’s no telling how much crap is on there total right now. I’ve been testing a lot of stuff lately.

She shines up nice, it's been a long slow process. I like the reload

Almost done with my detailing of all the paint.
I'm doing IronX, nanoskin, meg's ultimate polish, eraser and then reload. With all the necessary washing and drying in between. Should be done tomorrow, need to polish and apply sealant to both passenger doors and the roof. Next time I do this I'll have more polishing pads, I had 3 and one ripped so down to 2. I've been slowed by needing to wash them after a panel or 2. I think 5 or 6 would get me through the whole truck in a day. I also won't be using the meg's ultimate polish again. It's pretty oily and not doing as well as I had hoped. It's a learning process for sure and threads like this is how we learn, that and talking to Steve lol.

I'm going to do another couple of wash cycles before I get in on the polishing. I'm thinking next spring. After I get happy with those results I think I want to cQuartz the thing. the ceramic coating looks NICE IMO
Probably do it your way and start one panel at a time as time allows. I'd probably want to start in the spring/early summer before it gets to hot down here though...

The way I'm doing it is ok. I just dont have a full day to commit to doing it so this works. One thing I will recommend is having a few pads, at least 3 or 4. Clean them after each panel and rotate frequently. They get slick and oily pretty fast making them pretty ineffective. Next time I'll probably have 5 or so and try to polish in one day. That's a lofty goal though lol. Add them to your xmas and bday lists.... Lake county hdo pads

Thanks! I'll probably wait to start the list until it gets much closer and I'm more familiar with the overall process/products (research).

Can never start too early lol.
If you're planning to polish I'd steer clear of the megs ultimate. Maybe look into maguire's 205. Steve recommended that too me and I'll be using it next time. Can be bought at harbor freight and walmart. Also check websites like detailed imagine now and then for sales and deals. You can slowly add what you need and by spring time you'll have everything and you'll have gotten some good deals.

@SouthBoundSteve how long should I wait after applying reload before I wash the truck or even get it wet? I thought about spraying some water to check the beading but figured I'd wait for the sealant to cure a few days if possible.

Beautiful work Sean! I really need to get off my butt and get mine polished correctly. I’ve also had the CQuartz on my shelf for a couple of months. Getting time to line up with weather has been a challenge.

I plan to use Carpro Reflect first, to see how it looks. If it doesn’t clean up all the swirls, I’ll have to go more aggressive.

By the way, I’ve been using this stuff on trim. It’s outstanding, and I highly recommend it. You have to be careful with it though. It’s pretty potent and is going to stain any fabric you get it on.
