I want to say they come on when you turn your defroster on. I could be wrong.

The 2014 console does not look like that, A/C is a big knob half A/C half SYNC...

OP, from what you say, it appears that you have the "Automatic Air Conditioning System". In my 2016 Platinum with Automatic Air Conditioning System, the button above the MODE button in the pics from @SR5TRDTUNDRA controls defogging the back window (CrewMax), outside rear view mirrors (if equipped with defogger/heater), and windshield wiper de-icer (if equipped). For further information, this is spelled out in your Owner's Manual in the "Using the air conditioning system" section. I got this from my Owners Manual...some good info there...I keep a soft copy of the OM on my computer...too many features to remember :help:

Windshield wiper de-icer! Is that an option that I have on my platinum?

Interesting, isn't it? It does not show up on my window sticker, but there are a lot of other features that are not included on the window sticker. So, I looked at the eBrochure for 2016 Tundra and in the last few pages (see PDF attached), they list the options for each model. And they are additive, so the Platinum includes the options listed for the SR5, Limited and so on. The windshield wiper de-icer is listed as one of the included Exterior Features of the SR5.
So, in answer to your question, YES! (at least this is what the 2016 Tundra eBrochure says; other years?)

Re-read my post #23...controls defogging the back window (CrewMax), outside rear view mirrors (if equipped with defogger/heater), and windshield wiper de-icer (if equipped). The same button that controls all 3: the rear window defogger button also controls the outside rear view mirror defogger and windshield wiper de-icer at the same time - one push does all. The button is pointed out in post #24 by @MT Madman.

Turn on your heated mirrors (or rear defrost button in the case of Crewmax models) for a good 10 minutes before you're going to stop, then when you do, feel the area where the wipers park. I recently discovered that my truck has this feature after owning it over 2 years.
