Looking to upgrade my headlights on my 2012 crew max. Ideally LED suited housing. I'm not super concerned with aesthetics and fancy turn signals. Mainly I want very bright and reliable headlamps. Also it would be ideal to not pay $1K for a set, but am willing to if that's whats needed to get quality illumination. Thanks for your thought and input

I have about 2.5-years on my sequentials that i bought off of Flea-Bay. They are nice and bright and haven't leaked yet. They look just like the Morimoto XBs. even have the little logo in the corner. Maybe factory seconds? dunno.

I’ve been running Sealights in my stock housings and was so happy with them, I put them in all my cars and I only paid $33 a set. They were a massive upgrade over best halogens I ever used. It’s a pure white light with a very good pattern and pass VA inspection since there are no wiring modifications needs and use a built in heat sync instead of the fan type bulbs. You can usually get them on Amazon Prime days for about $27. It’s a very cheap way to try before you shell out a grand especially if your current housings are already good/clear.

Morimoto XB. Just installed a set on my truck, I can't believe I lived without them for so long. Gamechanger.

I also use the Sealight set from Ebay. I've had them for 18 months and very happy with them. They are bright, good color, no flashing headlight from oncoming cars and very reasonably priced.

That’s about the same time I got them. I’m going to wait until Cyber Monday and get them for my fogs and high beams. I’ve put them in my Highlander, RAV4, Sienna and Camry. Not one of them had anybody flash their lights at them. Both my 85 year old in-laws were both afraid to drive at night, especially in the rain and both said they made a world of difference. They have definitely saved me from more than a few Bambi collisions on the back roads near me.

If you can swing the price for the Morimoto XB they are amazing.

I stole this idea from the 1st gen crowd. $40 bulbs and a day of troubleshooting and installing and I am pretty happy. The process is the same as the video in this thread although it is harder on the h11 bulb because the opening is so tiny. https://www.tundras.com/threads/amazing-1st-gen-headlamp-upgrade.127384/
    3F06C7E6-4BDA-435E-B66F-E700499E1F19.jpg
I also previously installed the sea light drop in bulbs and these are significantly brighter although much more work to install. I also did a slight modification to the bulb because the led was shining into the reflector bowl and created a crazy hot spot above the clean projector cutoff.

RX350 retro w/ Morimoto HBs in the high beam. Morimoto XB pale in comparison. Literally.

Retrofitting OE RX350 projectors to the Tundra headlights. Not that hard - just tedious.

I ran the sea lights in my stock housings for over a year. They were bright, but also blinded others. The stock housings just aren’t ideal for LED’s.

I went with the Form Lighting Sequoia versions which look to actually be VLANDS brand. You can find the same thing for around $650 online I think.

I run Morimotos in my car and love them. But they can be $$$.

I’d recommend the Morimoto set. I personally have them and love them. A bit on the expensive side but completely worth it.
    1) they’re actually DOT approved, for what it’s worth. Higher quality standards for the housing compared to cheaper options because of the approval.
    2) one of the ONLY aftermarket sets that retain the functionality on vertical adjustment via the cabin switch due to the motors. I did some very extensive searching and morimoto seemed to be the only ones with that adjustment motor.

Like others, I also recommend the Morimoto XBs. Although you may not want to spend $1k, the quality is worth it as well as the warranty service (5yrs). I spent probably close to $1k replacing inferior headlights over the course of 4 years before I bought XBs.

Recently one of my XB's allowed in moisture (I've owned them for 1.5 years). I made a warranty claim with some photos, and they sent me a new headlight at no cost (they provided a prepaid shipping label to return the defective headlight). I share this because shit happens, but at least Morimoto quickly resolved it!

Was an early buyer and my gen 1s had some moisture, smooth warranty exchange and now rocking the gen 2's. No issues to report in the past 2 years.

it was quick. I would say 2 weeks max to get them.
They give you the option to keep running your current headlights until you get replacements.
