I just bought a 2016 sr5 with the TRD upgrade package. I noticed the factory bulbs arent as bright as i would like them to be, and so i been looking into doing an upgrade whether it be HID, LED, or even just a simple non ballast type upgrade. Not sure what road to venture down. Ive heard mixed feelings in regards to the ballast of both upgrades on how they can burn out or over heat or simply not function. What is the best route as far as headlights and fog light upgrades?

I went with these for my fogs. I don't go off reading but where we live, I drive with them on all the time. Nice white light with illumination to the sides. I also didn't want to blind folks coming the opposite way.
Rigid Industries also makes a good set. I currently have on order a Rigid 30 inch SR2 combo bar.

As far as headlights, mine are stock so can't help you there.

    Welcome btw...

I was looking into a company gtrlighting.com they seemed legit but for the money not sure how good of quality they are. Heres a video they had posted on the debate of h.i.d or l.e.d. https://youtu.be/7GQAKHeBCpA

Some other members may chime in but I have read recently that HR has had some fulfillment issues on orders placed. I'm not trashing them, just making you aware.

@Ciagrossi I retrofitted my headlights and that made a big difference. Check my Sig (turn phone sideways to see on mobile) for info on the retrofit.
My fogs are stock for now, the headlights are so bright now I am satisfied.
If I had the extra money and time I would prob go with the Rigid SAE fogs with their vehicle specific mount. That way I can use them on the road.
